10 years from now we'll still be hearing the same "my favorite aircraft should" whines.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Virtual reality headset, full body VR suit creating a feeling of total immersion (perfect for virtual sex too :) ), or maybe the  nervous system connected directly to the computer. Bullets will hurt, negative Gs will feel like...negative Gs and so on.
And I will have a collection of WW2 fighters to fly in real life.

I'm looking forward to two things, computers powerful enough to process moving images that look like real life and a virtual helmit as mentioned by someone else. I think we will see the helmit or something like it in 10 years. I have no idea about the power of processors.

Ok,

10 years ago, I was daydreaming with a friend while talking about how awesome the 386 CPU was improving.

I think the 486 was to be released shortly.

How AWESOME was a 486 to be. Image what the 586 will be like!

WOW OK I have a crazy thought... image a 686! I think my imagination MAY have touched on a 786,886 but a 686 was disneyland talk.

So what has happened?

I THINK the best processor may have been 20 MHZ super duper 386.

Within 3 years I have a powerhouse 486DX266

Then a MEGA Pentium 90. (586)

History moved on with a Pentium II (686)

Pentium III (786)

And now the insane 886, which I barely could conceive 10 years ago (Pentium 4).

So... I basically started with a 286/14. Now I bought a Celery 1.7 GHZ a few days ago for a mate (El cheap P4ish derivativeish)

THAT IS 14MHZ TIME 121 EQUALS 1.7GHZ.

- - - - - -

SO 10 years from now?

1.7 Ghz * 121 = 205 GHZ.

Same as what someone else predicted above.

Do you think that is fast enough for real time physics calculations?

(Jaw hits the floor thinking about it)

I imagine seeing HiTech at Oshkosh, flying his P-51D for the crowd.  He will have a new company of code writers who consult all over the world in simulation.  Aces High will look like your TV, and you will put on a flight suit, goggles, and step into your new virtual world, it will be so cool.  We are only on the tip of the iceberg...;)

Hrm.

Have you ever considered an #include file Cajun?  Actually there are several people who can use one, but you seem to need it most.  Then, in every post, you can

#include

which already has the whole post, graphics included.  Come to think of it a large number of posts could be reduced to the include statement.

Just think of all the time you'd save  :D

The only way to make a million dollars owning warbirds is first you have to start with 2 million.

I don't see HT building up a pile to blow it so blatantly... warbirds today are mostly owned by the super rich, and as time goes on that trend will not reverse.

Think next generation Xbox for your online flight sim enjoyment...
