Thx Ramzies got em' fact I got a bunch of em off your page.  Very nice work!

Duedel, yellow line is ok. Should be no problem.. nice paint job.

Fuzzy, no hostility, he knows not to critisize when a project is still in the editor.. Those screenshots from early on. I didn't feel like writing a page or two on how not to get burnt out on a map project you jump back and forth.. lay a field here.. go over and fix a river there.. add a train yonder, bring some trucks yon. Out of the editor an' into paint shop pro.. Outta paint shop pro an' back into the editor... outta the editor.. back in ..  Well, he knows all this that's what he does too. ..

The challenge here.. is to make a bread basket European country.. A food producing country.. not look boring checker board.. more like grandma's quilt.  I hate repeating patterns as much as he does so the answer is to use another tile, with all it's transitions, as another section of farmland.. In this case I used "rock" then it's just a process of working it.. then working it some more, the ..what ever that is.. squash?.. the squash lines op with the origial squash.. the greenbeans line up with the other greenbeans and so forth till all the seam lines are covered. Once that's done you can go back and add little detail stuff on pieces that don't repeat very often. The effect is you fly over a streach of farmland, you don't see the same repeating patterns.. and it looks like it did when you were 9 years old and your father's friend took you up in his Cesna and let you take the yoke for a couple of minutes..

Does Nuttz think I wouldn't put in  natural challenge?.. now c'mon you've got to fly over the Carpanthian mountains to reach southern Poland.. There's plenty of mountains north and south of Vienna, border with Yugo.. only 8k this time but hey.. that's what it says in the Atlas. Hardly any farmland there, Farmland is mostly in center of map. Both Budapest and Vienna are big cities so you difnetly get the feeling of flying over a populated area.

Lets see Nuttz critisize all the gv spawn points from screenshots of this map.. I don't drive gvs much because on most maps not very much attention was paid to where the spawn points were laid. Here we have all the spawn points right at a roadway. A couple of farmhouses, some trees.. and a nice smooth 8 mile drive to your firing position. All the convoys routes are exactly 10 miles.. so they past you exactly 45 mph..

Extra boat spawns for river wars.. barges and tugs cruise by during the battle..

Oh no I would never critizise Nuttzs maps while they are still in production.. only the mapper knows what kind of theme he wants to go with on his project.. only he knows and starts getting ideas where he wants to place stuff.. bases get moved.. whole strat complexes get moved.. sometimes 5-10 times.. shoots..

I could've wrote all that the other day but Nuttz knows or should know what I mean.. "tough toejam wait yer turn, I'm still in the editor" like that.. street slang.. means the same as I don't wanna splan all this right now.

If d/l's "today's" version he won't see any seams.. I spent hours on that yesterday, even went back when the green frikin' peas were 20 feet off.

Meanwhile more planes are added, Ramzeys B26, C47 (not really needed except a couple of bases.. and I'm gonna fix those) looks nice though.. Frenchies alum P47.

10Bears, Please re-read this, I said i wasn't criticizing your work. Nowhere in this post do I say anything about GV spawn points OR having a Moire pattern within the tiles. I was pointing out the abrupt transitional lines, like a transitional tile was flipped flopped with another one. I posted this because i noticed this also in the Greece map, which is already released. I also know ALOT of work goes into these maps and I also overlook some things. My intent was hoping it was a minor mistake you overlooked and could easily fix once pointed out. It was NEVER intented to be a slam, but a friendly helpful post from one mapmaker to another.

I justed didn't expect to send out a helping hand and have it smacked.

Still no hostility here either:)

Theres a few tiles that aren't transitioning well and are leaving an abrupt line. Maybe you have one of the transitioning tiles mixed with another.

I've got a p51b Snowbird's re-skin in the works.  Still have a lot to do e.g. clean up fuselage, wings, underside

I think it might be a fun plane to fly in once it is complete and would be happy to give it to anyone who wants it.

The real deal:
