Quit hiding the fugging boat

To all you Admirals out there with your high ranks... do the rest of the arena a favor and QUIT HIDING THE FUGGING BOATS!

I don't fly Navy or Marine, so it doesn't really effect me too much, but your "denying the enemy its use" rationalization for hiding the boat is just so much idiocy.

The trend is that every map resets within a maximum of 2 days, with an average somewhere in hours in the high teens.

Do you really think that "move the boat away from the enemy" is going to have such an effect that the map will last? The country with the highest numbers and biggest pig pile is going to win regardless of your "Heroic" actions, so just let the guys who actually want to USE the boat have their fun with it.

IF and I stress IF HTC ever puts some real strats into the game, with supply lines and depletable resources, moving a CV away from heavy action MIGHT become a feasible tactic to help win, but right now its just a huge sore spot with a lot of guys.

Honestly, if you are ranking high with the current score system, your just a statistics gamer anyway, wouldn't your time be better spent playing the stock market? At least there, number manipulation means something. Just ask Enron.

if you want the fleet get your rank up. I dont care about fleets at all. My squaddie Brady is smart enough to handle that.

He will do what he sees fit to do with it. Until a higher ranking guy comes and takes it from him.

Simple solution to this gaming the game style of play. The fleet destructs 10 minutes after the port is captured. Should be simple to set into the game and would stop this tyupe of stupidity. Same suggestion I made about this MONTHS ago.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

The whole rank/command thing is hilarious.  As if score whoring qualifies one for command.

Aside from "what he sees fit" what is a reason that makes any sense to hide a CV in the current MA gameplay setup?

High Probability: The map will be reset within 24 hours.

Fact: One CV is not going to be the hinge-pin that decides the outcome of the war.

Fact: By the time the day is over, no one will care who won the war that time around.

Mutualy agreed: If more than 5 people ask you to release the CV and you don't, you're a pompous self-centered individual with dilutions of grandeur.

If you think about it, by denying other players the use of a CV by moving it away from a fight, you are in effect acting like a school-yard bully holding a ball over the head's of all the little kids. In your own little world, you think you are god, but in reality, what you only serves to make people loathe your very presence.

MW007 you link to a thread showing one exact situation where you were specifically wrong, and pretend it answers Funked Midnight etc's general anti cv-hiding post.. ?

What's the point of putting a CV right where it is about to be taken back? The point of making a flat turn when you know the bogie will yoyo and catch you with guns up the arse?

Any given situation there will be 5 guys giving you toejam instead of strat reasons for making this or that strat decision, one side or the other or the other, and 50 others agreeing to disagree but not saying anything about it.

There's a difference between moving the CV out of reach and sending it to antartica, and it's not the same thing to plainly steal the only CV in the front from egotism while ignoring disagreements frmo other players concerned (wtf someone with brain troubles like that would make it to high rank, go figure) and to move away one that's in danger (and not about to receive help) while letting the other at the front and free to be moved from its position right in the middle of battle; in fact just off a base it just captured.

If your hiding the cv your killing yourself. You can make really good fighter rank if you only know how to use the cv right. It allows you to fly the shortest distance possible to an enemy field and get kills in the shortest time. So maybe this guy is hiding the fleet to keep the rest of you in the lower ranks.

My rank is #3 right now!  Yea for me!  hehehee.  Highest I've ever been.  I guess I should go grab all the CVs and hide em in corners lol.

Methinks Midnight hath a bee in his bonnet. :)

Seriously though, I agree with Midnight.  I can't stand people who hide the cv.  It makes absolutely no sense to hide it.  Use it or lose it is my philosophy with the CV.  If I have the rank, I grab control and sail it to where it can be used offensively instead of hiding it in a corner.  Why even have the cv if you won't use it?  No point, it might as well be captured...  The argument that you are denying it to the other country holds no water either, if you are in that much of a hole, 1 more cv won't matter much, besides, how quickly can a cv come into play after it has been captured?  Rarely is it of immediate concern...

My $0.02.
