Its Armour.  I have been trying to buy a couple a month before it all goes over to Franklin Mint.

I believe it is Clostermanns plane and it is a clipped wing Spit V

Here are the other birds in my collection.  The Pony and Jug (not shown) are being replaced with Armour planes eventually.  The detail on the ones I have just look bad when displayed next to the Armour stuff.  I am going to start on adding to the LW side next.  I have a real nice 262 and 190 and 109 and Stuka picked out.  Just have to clear the funds to get them.  :)

Nah...they are too heavy for that.  Afraid I might drop them.  The B25 weighs in at about 10 pounds or so and the P38 isnt that far behind it.

LOL!

Nice planes, Slingster. Where'd ya get them? What I wouldn't give to have a B-25H in AH right now.

I'd like to post a pic of the F4U that my grandfather has, but I don't have a digital camera or the time to get the pic.

I don't know the maker nor the exact scale, but it's an F4U-4 painted in the VMF-323 colors. It's a rare one, as not only does it have the squadron's name and plane number under the tail, it's also got the red and white rattlesnake on the cowl. It's a real representation, because my grandfather has film aboard his carrier, and when he studdied the shots of a Corsair on deck, the numbers matched.

Interesting story regarding the Rattler-cowl on the plane. Out of the entire VMF-323, only 4 planes had the Rattler on the cowl. They were considered bad luck, because something would always go wrong. They lived up to their reputation, as all four were eventually destroyed and the pilots lost. As far as I know it's true, cause my grandfather was relating the story when showing me the model.

Most of them have been purchased thru Ebay and other net stores.  I shop around a bit, but the cheapest I have found Armour planes in the 1/48th scale is around $60.
