"Large bore" referring to the size of the cannon... probably the 75mm in panzers, etc.

U got bore and smooth bore.

With a bore gun the bullet or cannon round leaves the barrel turning radial on the axis this helps stabilize the round.

With smooth bore the projectile needs other way off stabilizing for example fins would be added.

smoothbore guns can get higher velocity because the projectile doesn't have to follow the curling patern within the barrell.

bore is equivalent science speak for "inside diameter"

Yes, now large-bore cannons will be totally inneffective against non-armored targets.:p

Actually, it sounds like the lethality is being increased so that the large cannons are more effective against non-armored targets.  Why else would an adjustment be needed?

"Bore" actually refers to the process of drilling/boring the barrel. Just like the bore of the cylinders in your car.
