Warbirds Has a Freebie Weekend
« on: December 12, 2002, 06:01:45 PM »
This from Icemam at AGW..

---------
We will be turning the Fighter Pilot Academy arena to FREE for the weekend of 13-15 Dec 2002. During this time all accounts, including FREE accounts will be able to fly in that arena. We are discussing a modified planeset, mixed mode settings and a possible event in that arena during this time. More news as it developes. We're also looking to re-run the D-Day event again on December 14th from 3-9 PM. This should give the players a chance to see all of it (we only had time to run 1 of 3 stages previously).

Dago said I should be true to my word.

See funkedup... this thread proves that Hardcase isn't really just here to spam our boards with WW2OL propaganda, but is really just a harbringer of usefull like-sim-minded good will.

He's like one of those animals that eats all the berries then craps the seeds all over the place.  Kind of a fecal Johnny Appleseed.  :D

To even create a free account I have to give IEN my credit card number?

At least that was the impression I got after I downloaded it a month or two ago.

It thought it was toejam from first impressions but I am assuming there are some tricks to setting it up that a bit of online play might help and was looking at taking the 2 weeks thing.

However in my book, 'Free' should really mean that. I'm not handing over my CC details to a company which appears to have an appalingly bad history of mismanaging peoples accounts even before I decide I want to pay for their product.

In short. Is there any way to create a 'free' account without handing over my CC details?

if any game puts out a demo where you need a CC then FORGET IT.  to me thats just saying.. the public is stupid, let them forget we have there CC and we will bill them.

no way in hell will i ever give my CC to play a demo. Thousands of other companys have demos out that dont need CC numbers so why do they.

I would have no problem with HTC if they required my cc number for the free trial, and I have given it out to a couple isps to try them out, but I would never ever again give it out to IEN.  If you happen to like WBs I would recomend paying by check.
