With all due respect, Tumor, its a good time to be a flight sim enthusiast.  There are many competing sims out on the market.  One that is sick of moderation has the free will to move onto something else..though I suspect one might find the same type of moderation in other sims..or might find just the opposite, not enough moderation.  Either way, you decide, with your checkbook, what is tolerable, and what is not.  I hope you make the right decision (and stay)

Let me clarify....

I'm sick of it on both sides.  As for with AH? Well, comparatively speaking, they're ok (lol).  I have all the latest flight-sims save that Strike Fighter thing.  Been online in AH maybe 3 times in the last 3 weeks....  That's a "different but the same" issue.  Moderators and people squeaking about moderator's only adds to my suprising (I haven't figured it out yet) recent lack of enthusiasm for AH.  My appreciation of, and wish to continue supporting HTC along with my (hopefull) knowledge the "addiction" will return keeps my account active.  Based solely on the general attitude and actions of the community as a whole of late... I'd have walked awhile ago.

....I can't believe I've even considered the cancel button, I don't even know where it is.  I need a freekin shrink!

I have never been muted, and I am glad AH has both the language filter and moderators in the game.

When someone whines about being muted or "moderated", the whine just tells me that the whiner is an immature juvenile foul mouthed bellybutton who seems to think his need to act like an bellybutton overrides everyone elses desire to enjoy a fun game and being part of a decent community.

Tumor, I hope you find the fun in the game again, but also it's natural in life to find yourself moving on in search of something new and fresh.  Sometimes though, it is outside stresses that effect your preceptions of other things.

Taking a break for a few weeks or so often helps alot of us, give it a try, and ignore the whiners. :)

yanno if you weren't so intent on blowing that hot air out your bellybutton and actually read what people are "whining" about, you might find that your rose colored glasses are in need of a new prescription.

I read what he wrote, and understand completly what he is getting at, he is sick of guys who complain about being moderated or muted.  If you were not so eager to attack, you might understand my reply.

I am not defending whiners, but whenever muting/moderation comes up, I jump in to show support for it and for HTC.  Face it, without the controls in place, immature fools like you Shane would have driven many players away.

Tumor is a class act and a good person, too bad there arent more like him in the game, and less of your type.

I don't know as a certainty if he has, but if anyone is capable of driving players away it is Shane. He can do it without crossing the line as far as vulgarity goes.  This guy flies his la7 close to an enemy base, furballs low, gets some kills but eventually gets caught by numbers then has the audacity to complain about being gangbanged.  I have to wonder, is Shane so stupid as to blame anyone but himself for this?  We see it almost every day, this whine.... and it goes on for many minutes.  It's as if someone else has decided how/where Shane will fly his plane.  As Shane matures,(hopefully) he will come to realize that it's only his fault he gets ganged.. no one elses.  in the mean time, I pray as every update is released that there is a "Mute Shane" button.  I have only squelched one team member... I am asking the moderators to be MORE agressive in their muting.. not less.

Oh and Shane.. as for those facestudmuffins.. if you want lessons on how to avoid HO's.. I supply them no charge just to eliminate the whine there.

Appreciate that Dago (and Shane) but before anyone picks sides for me... it's both sides I'm tired of (among other things).  From all the reading I've done on the subject of moderators and seperately, the complaints against them, I can't take a hard line for either.  The need for a moderator speaks volumes to the root of the cause!  On one hand you have moderators who've been overzealous at times, and on the other hand some folks deserve to be muted then fire off unwarranted squeaking about it (that to me is a whiner, highly subjective of course).....  Hell I've NEVER been muted by a moderator or even recieved a comment, guess it just chaps my butt that it has to happen at all.

This is a reflection (IMO) of a generally hostile atmosphere that seems more often than not to override the freindly "good-times" intended nature of the game.... ch1 squelch lately doesn't seem to do much to help as the country in-fighting seem's to be at an all time high too, and when I find MYSELF joining in and acting like a dillweed I get fairly well irked about it and my fun comes to a speedy end.

Ya know... I think a lot of folks (myself included) could learn allot from guys like Math and Silat when it comes to attitude.

I think I'll log on tonight and crash a 163 or somethin... maybe that'll get me back in the mood!

See?  There ya go.  Why not just use the squelch command rather than throw gas on the fire?

Oh boy...  geez.

I was giving Shane toejam dude..the stereotypical stuff he always hears... so relax.  I've told Shane directly that i have no personal issue w/ him..I guess I should have told you too, Tumor.  :)
When I was rook, I frequently found myself in the same area as Shane..we both like to go the the base where attacking planes are upping rather than wait for them at our defending base. He was a reliable teammate...now that I'm bish,  I'm sure I'll run into him..I can hardly wait to be called a ganger dweeb.

it's quite possible the numerous potty mouths, the bigots, the nation slamming and ch1 politicos might have contributed to such a person's motivation for leaving the game. more than likely it was also real life stuff or a lack of general interest that was the underlying factor along with the above.
