Christmas Songs
« on: December 24, 2002, 06:52:15 AM »
Hi All,
In a time when the music industry is falling over itself to offload some of thier more dubious material, what's your favourite Christmas song?

My vote goes to Kirsty Mccoll & the Pogues for "Fairytale of New York". With Bings "White Christmas" a suprising 2nd (Hey, variety is the spice of life) :).

Whats the song which means Christmas most to you (Good or Crap).

Happy Xmas (War Is Over)

Happy Xmas Julian)

So this is Christmas
And what have you done?
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so this is Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

A very Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

So this is Christmas
And what have you done?
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

War is over!
If you want it
War is over!
Now!

Happy Christmas

A Gun for Christmas

A Gun For Christmas
By the Vandals

-Families lock their doors in fear that criminals might get them
-But this Christmas rest assured that I will have my own protection.
- I'll get a gun for Christmas to protect my other gifts
- If burglers touch my property they won't leave here with out a limp
- Packing heat this Christmas I'll shoot it off on New Year's Eve,
- cuz bullets go in outer space when pointed up I believe
- A bullet sends a Christmas message that is clear and loud
- it says that I will not take all of this bull@#$% lying down
- I'll get a gun for Christmas to protect my other gifts
- I'll only tell you once "Stay the f@# away from my $%^"
- I will use my new weapon in self-defense and sport
- and to keep the carolers off my god$#^ porch
- and preventing Yuletide homicide's this year
- I won't be a victim this year thanks to Santa Clause
- Sleeping with no fear of danger, and it's all because
- I'll get a gun for Christmas to protect my other gifts
- I'll only tell you once "Stay the %&# away from my $^%&"
- Christmas needs security , security is weapons.
- Vigilante action teaching criminals their lessons
- It's the greatest gift we have taking out our rivals
- Thank you Santa, thank you God
- for guaranteeing my survival
- A bullet sends a Christmas message that is clear and loud
- it says that I will not take all of this bull$%@ lying down
- I'll get a gun for Christmas to protect my other gifts
- I'll only tell you once "Stay the $^@* away from my $%#@
- I won't be a victim this year thanks to Santa Clause
- Sleeping with no fear of danger, and it's all because
- I'll get a gun for Christmas to protect my other gifts
- I'll only tell you once "Stay the %#^@ away from my crap
- or I'll bust a cap in your ass!!!"

No one like Bing

No one does it like Bing.  White Christmas, and Chestnuts on an open fire by Nat King Cole is a very close 2nd.

There is a recent version of "O ye merry Gentlemen" by the Bodines and Sara McLaughlin that is Very very good and a close 3rd in my book. (Spelling may be a little off)

LOL!....edited to add a forth.  Thanks Dawggus!  That had me rolling.

Traditionalist here..."Carol of the Bells" is my favorite Christmas tune.  'Tis classical music.:)

Merry Christmas!

And if you haven't been good this year, you still have about 7 hours to go.  All is not lost.:D
