No way a house cat can overtake a deer, even if it is a fawn.

That cat is overmodeled.

Paws on asphalt have more grip than hooves, the cat can accelerate better, and the deer may not have an immediate sense of urgency as it must be somewhat used to living in an urban environment. The photo doesn't show relative speeds and as the deer gets up to full speed, the cat probably gave up the chase shortly after the pic was taken.

Cat's will chase just about anything that runs away from them. They love to pounce on receding objects.

Yeah... but you missed the point...... It's funnier than hell... the only thing funnier would be well... we all know who the fawn really would be funny as....

Are you taking in the fact that the cat in anticipation of the deer's move, has already applied right full rudder and is working towards the angle for a snapshot? Note the rear legs ..obviously the cat has just hit wep and is ready to perform a roll if required. The cat isn't overmodeled, just a superior attack force using its designed performance abilities to its fullest..
