my response: should have killed them sooner....

prince valiant steps up: but what if you had one innocent life you evil kerr!!!

my re-response: yeah but life is patently unfair and it's not like the guy that they mis-accuse is often some great stand up citizen, he's usually a dirt-ball anyway. better to stop 100 criminals and one innocent every so often is just the price we pay for being so out of control as a society.

prince valiant: but what if it was you mrfish?.....what if it was....you......

my re-re-response: then life would suck for just me but lots o' criminals would still be forever out of action.

there wasn't that easier than actually taking turns touting our usual positions? very efficient space-wise
;)

Are both evidence that Conservatives have completely lost sight of the principles that the Founding Fathers espoused.

nah, this gov went over board. he took the easy way out instead of looking at every case as his job requires...

read this if you can find it, my grandfather (namesake) wrote it when I was 6:

two sides to this..
imagine your on death row, you havnt done a thing to be here but the cops beat you and stick probes inside you till you said you were guilty of the crime that put you there. 15 or so years later they find your innocent by dna. your freed.
Now imagine your a father of a son who was murder'd and they sentenced the guy who did it to death and you think thats what he deserves, but you find out the guy who killed your son was let off death row for a life sentence along with all the rest on death row for further investigation because they found one death row inmate innocent.

This A-hole was the worst Governor in Illinois history. He lost the last election due to allegations and an impending Federal indictment for corruption and racketeering. Oh, did I mention that he's a republican with extremely close ties to the Bush family? Things that make you go hmmmm.

edit to correct my early morning bad spelling

No, I mean more basic stuff like prefering to let guilty people go free in preference to depriving any innocent person of their freedom.

Conservatives in the US have moved on to a more Cromwellian method of thought: Kill them all and let God sort them out.

Your grandfather was the Governor of Ohio?  In one of the reviews of the book at the link you provided, it mentions Mr. DiSalle as a former Governor.

My solution to cluttered up death rows and to stop wasting tax money on free hotels for these buggers is this:

Once proven guilty and the sentence is passed, the defendent is dragged out behind the courthous is shot, buried, and forgotten about. Anyone on death row will no longer get chances to appeal, and will be shot.

How's that for liberal?

Tex..That was the USSRs method for the most part.
Great Idea except for having a good number executed for the same crime. They kept finding out they had the wrong guy.
Do a search on their famous serial killer.

Ryan may in fact be political scum..but there were a number of areas he was right. Maybe this will be the push that forces reform on the DP.
