He's just finished uni and is working temporarily at the factory I work at, while he finds a better job, so he hasn't much money. But he's still managed to buy a decent first car - little Saxo hot hatch. Shhhh... he'll only go posting pictures of it if he hears us discussing him. ;)

Oh Dowding. Talk about putting my goot in my mouth.

I shall now go remove it.

Go on. Nothing to see here.

This is sort of like falling on yer bike - first you check to see if there's any cute chicks arund. THEN you check your pain receptors.

lol Ripsnort :) That must have been a painful experience. It may be small, but it isn't that small...

No problem Santa. BTW that falling off the bike thing still stands. I was snowboarding and crashed heavily right on my cox-six. Jesus, did it hurt - made my eyes water. Did I show it? Did I shreck. Too many foxy ladies around, one of which was my instructor. :)

Could barely sit down for a week afterwards though...

lol. Anyone who's watched TW has been hearing "hints" about open beta for almost two years now. Which has made TW and Sick & Co. look like the ones who WISH they could rise to the level of being a kindergartener with a Gameboy. They've spawned a new version of "two weeks" and that is  "three months"
As for the sw and gameplay. Been there. It looks "part time."  I'm not enthused MG in the least.  "Potential" is unbankable and just a word (until it's realised, if ever).  Just ask CRS ;)

 Oed

No, my un-learned fool, you have NOT been there & you obviously have NOT a clue ;) Then again, a typical reaction from a grovelling Fanboi type that seem to frequent this BBS ;)

Having kept an eye on TW since its inception, i've never once seen any hints on open beta from the official team before now. So your statement is obvious rubbish. Come to think of it, you obviously have no idea of the TW open architecture philosophy so its no use me trying to explain. As long as you enjoy your "Gameboy" aircraft & "sandpit" BBS, I guess you'll be happy ;)

For those that doubt the capability of the TW software, let me just tell you it leaves Aces High in the dust for sure. For those that like their arcadish flight models & laser gunnery, well, you guys are already where you belong ;)

First he talks about acradish flight models and laser gunnery, then he objects to the content of someone's uneducated opinion regarding his amateurware (which is an accurate description considering that the dev team are part-timers). Whenever someone talks about laser gunnery, I start to think they are either

a) completely inexperienced with AH

b) trawling for attention

In your case, I believe it is both. If the former was untrue, you would know that each round is modelled and bullet drop is accounted for. We even have a useful tool that pulls up a target on screen, set at any distance you want, which you fire at. You can then examine the results. Despite this, the unaware (or the unwilling to be aware) continue to pull out a very tired line that doesn't hold a thimble-ful of water. Whatever.

The prodigies (you paint them as such) developing your game have been working on it for how long? Two years? And there isn't a smidgeon of progress for the public to see. Even Mozart had a higher productivity rate - are your guys trying to unite classical and quantum physics or something?

If you want people to take a look at your product and come to like it, I suggest some sort of demo or movie is released. We're all flight sim enthusiasts and I'm sure we'd appreciate a quality product for what it is. Until such time that we can see it in action for ourselves, I suggest you refrain from the cliquey 'I've seen it and it beats your arcade game programmed by a monkey, but you can't see it yet' statements. It just looks a little sad. It's also very divisive.

The accusations of 'fanboi' are not only a little hysterical, they are also juvenile and tired. I like AH, I like the development cycle and the rapidity of updates. I like where it is going. It's not perfect, but nothing ever is.

Shredar, I might have missed it but are you on the TK or TR beta team?

There are folks here who are testers in both so I suggest you check yourself at the door.

Wooo, Santa you saved my day! The e-mail I applied to the TK beta a long time ago was really overspammed so I never checked it! Hehe - thanks to you I dug up the right mail!

Got it installed - just have to configure my HOTAS setup! Ran it for a quick flight - looks good (at least the planes that have a cockpit... :) ).

Does this mean I gonna meet yer big bellybutton up there?? Wooohooo!
