Missions and guys making them

Hi all

I got some questions again . I enjoy playing MA but there seem to be so few ppl making missions and trying to get things organized .

ROCSTAR3 (bish) if he makes a mission then im there , have alot of fun and we usaly capture bases or do objectives when hes in the lead .

But sadly there aint so many ppl trying to make missions ..why ?

Do they get flamed or something ?

wel i just had to say that i enjoy missions alot more then just to start from a base to join the fight .

There are only a few people who have the recognition to successfully run missions.  It's difficult to run missions, without having that recognition, and the only way to gain it is to run successfull missions.

People tend to avoid missions by players whos names they don't know, since most missions do tend to take up a lot of time, they want to be reasonably assured of at least having a leader who knows what they're doing.

It's also a lot of work to run good missions.

I have no idea why anyone would join a "missun".   I think they ruin the MA in any case since they are nothing but a gangbang and worthless building battling.  I don't like to be on either side of a "missun".  If I see a huge cloud of "missun dudz" heading toward a field I simply up from a different one.  If I see a huge cloud of "missun dudz" from my own country headed toward a field I head toward another one.

Sometimes other pilots are already up and fighting somewhere or defending a base or in a vehicle.  I personally like missions when I'm not already doing one of the things mentioned above.  There is one thing about missions that I dislike and those are the missions that are going to start in ten minutes.  I think one of the secrets to missions are the fast starting ones.  I just dont like to sit there not doing anything, but thats just me   .

It also may be the times you are flying.  I too see guys posting mission up! and they get canceled because no one joins.  No problem, just learn how to start missions and start small.  Maybe just a gas mission or base ack killen mission.  Anyway just relax and have fun.

Yeah, like that squad mission we did last night - 10 "missun dudz" bent on a gangbang - but the VH target we took with half the guys, so we had to divert to the next bish airfield and capture that, too, with the remaining ord.

Even if it is a "gangbang missun", weren't ww2 attack missions all about achieving local air superiority ?

Disregard lazs' comments here. Missions are great fun.

Those posted by unknown players are are almost certain to get scrapped because no one shows up.

If a famous mission organizer, like Ripsnort, Fariz, Http to name a few, posts, everybody knows it will be a well organized strike and lots of ppl join.

I advise you to Rip's mission planning primer in the Help Forum, Search for his posts in that forum, it's real good.

That may be true for air missions.  But - You would've enjoyed Whels' ground vehicle assault mission.  That many vehicles rolling that close together was a true testament to realism, and I would certainly sign up for another one!  Tigers, Panzers with all HE, Panzers with all AP, Ostwinds, M3 with vehicle supplies, M3 with troops, it was quite a blend.  A couple of countrymen in the area pulled some impromptu FAC for us.  Pretty darn cool.

Oh my, I'm laughing as I post....Missions are a lot of fun when planned well.  It also depends on how you run it...if you DEMAND people join your little crusade and are amazingly annoying in the Channel 2...you might not get many takers.

I am amused at my fellow countrymen who bemoan their co-players.  Groaning that our team doesn't have their act together, etc etc.  So, I'll slap together a mission since cooperation is so "lacking"...and do you think the moaners join?  Oh heck no...they stay right on their bully pulpit.  But, its fun to give them the oppritunity to walk the walk after talking it so long  

The MAWs and others pull off some good missions...the MAWs have numbers, so those are impressive raids.  Hooker has put together some fast missions that do not require many players and are a blast.

Can't vouch for the Bishops, but the Knits do have some good mission builders out there.

well yeah... maybe you would be better off joining some re-enactment group?    I am not here to re-enact WWII... I read the book.. I know how it came out and why.   I like WWII planes and armement.  I would like to have them to play with and see how they stack up against each other.
