Upgrading Processor and Motherboard

Im thinking of buying a new processor and motherboard. The ones i am thinking of having are the

P4 2.40B 512KB S478 Box 533FSB  £150

And
the Intel 850e motherboard.


The system i have now is 3-4 years old its a

Gateway 550 WEB
P3 550
386 Ram
Geforce3
Full tower case

any help will be much appriciated, also will that motherboard fit in my case?.

Gateway cases are notorious for being proprietary.  Make sure it's a standard ATX.

I got the largest case the one with 3 cdrom spaces.

hope i dont have to buy a new case:(

I just got a new case with 3 fans and a 350W power supply for $70.  I am sure you could find one comparable even cheaper.
