Glad to hear you've setup with no problems. Lot's running XP with no problems, lots' running 98 with no problems. As to USB and analog improving FR, that's questionable. My FR maxed out at a steady 85 to 90. And that's using analog. If one is using analog with no problems, or any OS with no problems, upgrading (so to speak) is not worthwhile. Again....the folks at microsoft or any manufacturer of any product are going to try and sell what they have. I've seen no advantage to using USB sticks etc. No spiking with my setup....system resources a constant 93% and with the fast system I have no need to spend money on something I already have.
I've built 9 systems all using 98SE and find it very friendly when swapping Mobos and cpus. Take out old, put in new, leave all other devices (HD,Floppy CD etc.) in. Plug in new mobo, plug in drives, reinstall win98SE again and I'm off. Takes about 2 hours for the whole process. Again...with the ease I'm having doing these things why would I want to change to XP?
Plus....I've heard nothing but problems with those using WinXP and CH Products. Using CH Products here and not a whimper
