I was thinking about creating a new squadron, but there has to be two requirements.

1)  It has to be named after a real squadron that existed during WWII.

2)  All members of the squadron have to have the name of a real ace.

Oops! This has already been done before(more times than I can count).

     The purpose of this thread is that I have a real problem with virtual pilots using "real" aces names for handles; especially ones that are deceased. I've met a lot of aces over the years and I believe it is disrespectful to use their names.

I know this sounds stupid but....

Why have a squadron that was once really a squadron? And why have only real aces names used?

As you said, that is not very original. In fact, before those old hero's went out and made a name for themselves they were just a buncha scared yahoos trying to get by.

So here's a suggestion. Since this is virtual. Why not start a new squadron with a new name, never heard before, and recruit new folks with unknown names and create a whole new virtual aces high squadron that will go down in the anals of virtual history. :D

I aggree with the thread. For every guy like Yeager there seems to be a dozen Vosses.
I once looked out of a tower and saw 2 different Hartmann related handles....
Taking a real persons name as your handle isnt like wearing a Brett Farve jersey. You are acctually asking people to call you by that name. Its kinda weird. Especially when you shame the name you have taken.

First off you want a squad with everybody in the squad having a handle of a real ace, then in the next sentence you say its disrespectfull for players to use aces handles?

Maybe think that one through again, laddy.
