I was joking about the site on the monitor.

I am the Quality Assurance and code compliance guy. If you see a book opened up near the middle of my desk... my name is in the front :). I'm also in the national committe that establishes all the plumbing, electrical, heating and safety codes.... so I'm sorta published.

Cubicle?!

Where I work we have two "rooms" (there's a wall between them, but no waal/doors to the corridors, one of them even being on both sides of the corridor), each with about 15 people working. My boss would have had his own room, but he decided he we didn't need the wall to his room. Not that he needed the free view to watch us work, he isn't there most of the time, and when he is, he's too busy anyway ;)

1/3rd usually isn't there (meetings, experimenting/testing (not possible at the desks), holiday etc.), of those that are there about 1/3rd are in a constant discussion with eachother. It can get quite noisy sometimes - especially at those times when almost everyone is discussing (the noise is usually augmented by those that join the chat via handsfree telephone conference (more than one using the telephone at the same time)). Most times the noise level isn't that extreme though.

When they hired me, they told me that would be an american style office. Now you post pictures of cubicles. I'm confused.

I'm another one with a commute that spans the time required to take care of the morning essentials and wander downstairs. One day though, about 11:00, pre shower and actually in pajamas my publisher stopped by to take me to a fellow worker's birthday lunch (I had forgotten about the lunch). I was working, I SWEAR! But it looked like I just rolled out of bed :)

Telecommuting has added years to my life, and likely years to the lives of other idiots on the road during rush hour. It will be hard to go back some day. I was starting to "prevent" selfish behivior like shoulder running in rush hour by blocking the aholes with my car. Scary and stoopid.

I work inside this building:

I'll see if I can get some interior pictures, it's beautiful stained glass and domed ceilings.

extremely creepy at night when no one else is here.

What do you do for work in there Kanth?

Hey Rip, nice digs!  And to think you missed the opportunity of eating at the cafeterias in the factory up here in Everett.  Guess you'll just have to suffer with that nice, clean, and modern cafe.

At least you'll be able to stop for Krispy Kremes on your way into work

:D

Good luck Rip.

After the E-Quake we were temp transferred from renTON up to BELLvue for 5 months, then I got out of there and went back to TUKwilla!

Was the worst commute.  The commute from HELL.  The really sucky thing is BoEinG pays so damned well and the benifits are (Still) good.  Otherwise I would go back to playing guitar on the local street corners.  Life was oh so much simpler.

I suspect the russians will be doing my work shortly, or the green cards down at CDG.  Im pretty sure the corporate drag queens want to see my job shipped out pronto (thank you N A F T A).

God Bless AMREEKA!

My commute is from the bedroom to the den area.  I have a home office and it isn't near as nice looking as what Ripsnort is moving to, but I bet he can't do his work in his undies!

Hi MiG =)

The building was purchased and renovated  by the Architect firm, that I work for, in the early 90's.

I'm their Informaton Technology Dept Manager (I'm the whole department) I make everything go ;)

Complaining about commute time? I guess the 3 series isn't all its cracked up to be.

Duly noted.
