Damn, my commute time doubles in March
« on: January 29, 2003, 07:59:20 AM »
Well, our lease runs out in this building in Renton in June, so in March we're moving...its sweet and sour though.  Sour because the new building (literally "new" building) is in Issaquah!  My commute time almost doubles from 30 min. drive one way to 50 min. drive one way. The sweet is that the new building is beautiful!... and its not Everett! (Everett was on our list of buildings for a possible move, an that would have been a 2 hour commute one-way for me!)  I'll be switching my shift to 4 X 10 hour days a week to relieve the milege driven and my days off will be Friday, Sat. and Sun.  Here are some pics from inside the building.

Lobby with fireplace (Weird angle, the fireplace is alot bigger than the pic shows, its an "end view" of it)

Edit: Also covered parking (Parking garage, two floors) Gym, showers, locker room in the new building.

Don't be "blinging" on your cellie while you make that 50 minute drive.;)

My commute is 67.5 miles each way.  I would love to be able to go to a 4x10 work week.  So would my car.

Cube life is pretty good with these type of "privacy" cubes.  I've worked in much worse set-ups.

Yes, Lazs...to think 8 years ago I was a machinist running a 5-Axis Mazak, 3 Axis Enshu...and getting paid quite a bit less! ;)

naa... you wanna look as beat up as me?   I don't know... every time I think I should just stay in the office... I find myself outside in the sun or wind or rain being uncomfortable.
