Why I'll bet one of these puppies would take a tiger down. :)

Yes, well, the modern day spud gun used from ambush at close range would have a good chance of immobilizing a tiger.  A 1944 technology spud gun would have little to no effect and therefore should not be added to AH.  Even bouncing said spud off the ground to hit the weaker belly of a tiger would have no effect.

Heh, I've played with one of these.  Made of PVC, fueled with hairspray.  It would launch a tater about 200 yards.  Much fun.

Lol, the German's must be way behind the times. I visited someone over ten years ago that was using one of these. His could launch a potato a good 500 yards or so. I never heard of anyone dying from french fry attack, but time will tell.

Some youths have made multi-barrelled potato cannons, resembling the Soviet Katyusha rocket launchers of the Second World War and capable of firing at a phenomenal rate

ACHTUNG KARTOFFELN!!! :D:D:D

Then again, it would be a very humilliating epitaph:

"Here lies Mr. Smith, secretary of the NATO.
Believe it or not, he was killed by a potato."

:D

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!  THIS IS A MAJOR CRISIS!!!!

Surely you know that this flies in the face of the Treaty of Versaille.  They are rearming themselves and preparing to take over Europe.

Damn Germans, they are at it again!!

I hear ya Mathman. Sure, today it's only potatoes but tomorrow it could be rutabagas or even (gasp) mushrooms.
Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.

I loved spud guns as a kid.  The best was dry firing (loading w/ a rag instead of real ammo) at night.  The flame was awesome and the bang would attract every kid in a 5 mile radius.  I made one once that would shoot golf balls around 300-400 yards.

However, I knew tons of people with spud guns and never once heard of one being shot at people.  I think the Germans have a problem that goes beyond flying potatoes.
