Ehem.... Yes, it is my fault (and mine alone). I received plenty of help from SuperFly getting all of the fields in. The German gv skins did come from the Finn/Russ terrain (if you guys got out of the MA more often, you would know this :D ). I am really not sure who designed them, but, I am sure they have the thanks of the community. Frankly, the Finn/Russ terrain is one of the best I have played in.

In another thread, someone commented on the altitude of the mountains in the central 'crater'. Unless Fly skarued the pooch, the minimum alt to get a plane into the crater should be about 18.5k. This does not preclude someone from flying there. It does mean that it won't be easy. The area is intended as a 'plane free' gv zone. Each country starts with 2 gv fields in the crater. All of the gv fields spawn into Crater City (a very big city in the middle of the map). I am hoping for some fun gv fights here. Each country also has a gv field outside the crater that spawns into it. This is so that when you lose your crater fields, you have a chance to get back in.

A couple of other things... There are TONS of PT spawns (I think the lil Mossie boats are fun :) ). Also, each country starts with 3 ports/fleets. In each of the 3 seas, 1 country starts with 1 fleet, the other starts with 2. The single fleet has one slight advantage in that it has an additional cruiser.

What is the intended purpose of the gv city? It seems like it ups your gunnery to shoot city objects but you dont get any perks for it?

heh, don't get me wrong, the terrain itself is very nice, i just think that for gameplay it's going to create a lot of bottlenecks in the center of the map, flanking moves will be pretty hard to pull off, and that airfields are a little too far apart, especially the 1st/2nd line bases in the center.

what i think would really help this map is three mid-sized islands, one on each side with about 6-10 bases that can be fought over and used as a stepping stone to further spread the action out on the flanks and alleviate the inevitable traffic jam in the center.

just my observation.

< this map is gonna be a beech to reset; it's s furballers dream map with potential for tragedy by porking fuel along the 1st and 2nd line bases. >

Actually, it should do neither. The purpose is for it to be a fun place to have GV battles. Note that the gv fields spawn to crater city and not to the other fields. I really wanted the city to be a smoking wreck, but, HT said that it just wasn't possible :( .

Oct...When I started this thing, I was very weary of the 'drive thru window' terrains. My intent was to design a map that would be a tuff reset and (hopefully) still fun to play in. Time will tell....:D
