Am back :)
« on: July 27, 2000, 08:20:00 AM »
Not that you care, but I must feed my ego

Back prematurely from Sweden. Got 10 jumps in before Mother Nature grounded me. Have had four freefalls from 1500 meters to 1000 meters. WOW. I now have a new hobby. Freefalling cannot be described. First one I can rarely remember, about all I can remember is being stable and being salamanderled in the face by something - rain falling slowly and me accelerating and hitting it

Then weather turns bad, and to top it off, I put my bare foot on a bee while packing my chute, get stung and have a huge allergic reaction. I can no longer fit my foot into my oversized shoe and two of my toes are blue and pulsate with my pulse. My doc calls me a wimp, gives me cortizone and has grounded me for at least five more days.

So now I can be a target in Aces High again, woohoo

Will be fun flying again.

I was in Vårgårda, north of Gothenburg. Cirrus Fallskärmsklubb, great place.

Yeah, terrible weather, but the pilots and jumpmasters managed to find a few holes in the clouds some of the days.

We had a couple of visiting skydivers from Stockholm who were on the lookout for better weather - without much luck.

Thanks guys for yer welcome

Be careful on your first sortie - wouldn't want you to bash your elbow on the cockpit frame...hit your nose on the gunsight... twist your ankle on the rudder pedal assembly...

What did Bee say when you stepped on him?

Bee said

BZZZZ zzz *STINNNNG* <places pointy part in between toes, leaves it there pumping poison>

I've had it translated by a bee specialists, and it turns out the bee was humming Metallica's "Don't Thread On Me".

But man, that bee had potent poison. At the moment, I have problems fitting my socks over my foot. Shoes are out of the question. The blisters have gone down, but if I hold myfoot up above heart height, I can see it pulsate red and white with my puls. Sort of cool.

Have been getting some tablets that get my drowsy and cortizone, so should be back to normal tomorrow or the day after.

Lesson: DON'T mess with bee(s).

My fault; the poor bee had no chance and just did its thing.
