9mm is really nothing, easy to empty an entire clip into a small area at 50 yards. .45 isn't that bad either, but that .50 DEagle... woh, now that's power.

The price of Freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, any time and with utter recklessness...

...at home, or abroad.

The Desert Eagle 50 is something else. I only fired a few boxes of ammo through one - and I was in fear of every next round. It is contrllable and you can sorta aim it but its recoil is something else when it goes off. Thank god the punishement stops after only 7rds then you get a break to reload. Wow! :)

It is a magnificent looking gun, I can get over how much it actually likked like an artillery peace more than a handgun. :)

Sorry but a giant .50 pistol isnt that big of a deal.  I dont see anyone freaking out over a desert eagle.  Isnt a cartridge that big just for show?

If I were a cop, I'd be more worried about pistols specificly designed to deal with body armor.

Thanks Ammo :)

I honestly think I should not have light weight just because of the harsher recoil. I can build up strength and stamina to hold a heavier one properly, but I can't unsprain my wrist if it gets snapped really hard.

Kanth, if its self defence that is your reason, and it is a handgun that you are contmeplating, I suggest a 38 special revolver, double action only.  If it is a conceal carry gun then a lady smith or equivelant would work well. However the recoil can be fairly sharp in the light weight models.  It really depends on how tolerant you would be  to the recaoil and report.  I would stay away from auto loaders unless you become an avid shooter and and want to advance to something more versatile.

have fun!

not me,,, my brother has a 45/70 rifle,,,tell you what,,i would rather have the chance of a 22 bullet go threw me any day,,than being hit with that 45/70! it would kill you know matter were it hit you allmost,if it hit your hand,,it would probly take off your arm and your life with it too,,atleast with a  22 you got a chance,,with this gun,,there aint no chance at all,,you hit a deer or anything with it,,drops like a rock

saying you would rather be hit by 45/70 then a 22,,,,is allmost like saying you would rather be hit with a 30mm in aces high,,than a 7.62,,lol

I guess the odds of being left wounded are much less :p

can't say what a 45/70 would feel like but I can tell you a .22 to the thigh hurts like hell, sorta like being stabbed with a red-hot needle followed up by a hammer.  but hey I still have my leg.  45/70, I'd probably be hop'n around on 1 leg

so true capt,,,coming from a guy who has been hit by a 22,,if it was a 50cal or 45/70 you mite not be here today,,lol,,how did that happen?,,accident or on purpose,,,,thats why in the civil war there wasnt that many wounded,,,everyone was fring a 58 cal bullet and bigger,,,so when it hit a leg or arm,,,it just took it right off

.22 is porked. I remember hitting a cola bottle from 20 yards with a .22 short without breaking it!!!
However, the human flesh is tender, and with a carefully aimed 22. long, I  killed many a bull.
22. Magnum will do it a lot safer, but still not 100%
With a .45, or 50 cal you just have to hit it somewhere:eek:
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
