Kanth a Glock 19  9mm will be a good choice or if you want something smaller a Sig 239 .380 ( loaded with Federal HS 95 grains)

most myths allready dispeled here..  people have been trying to make handguns equal rifle power since day one.. nothing new here.. same story... you end up with a very large and heavy hangun that is very expensive.   It is firearms "hot rodding" and is no threat to anyone.   480 ruger and 454 casul are out there..  I didn't think any of those guns recoiled much including the mildly recoiling desert eagle in .50 but... several small low powered arms like the charter arms bulldog in 44 special bit pretty good which brings me to...

kanth.. ammo is correct in caliber and choosing a revolver but... I would go for a 357 in about a k or L frame revolver (mid to mid heavy).   You can shoot 38 specials out of the 357 and expect the recoil of a 22.   If you do decide to try some 357's in it you will probly be surprised at how easy the gun is to handle.   My daughter is small but she fires my cut down 44 mag revolver in rapid double action with not problem.   There is no wrist that is too "weak" to take the piddly 8-13 lbs of recoil that handguns make.   It is mostly a mental thing.    The guys you see talking about fierce recoil are the ones that are going to be most affected by it not my 5'4" 120 lb daughter or you.

Oh... Smith and Wesson has been bought back from the effeminate limeys and has recanted all of their hand wringing former policies.

well,,,,counts on the gun on recoil,,,anything that isnt a revolver wont kick too bad, some revolvers have broke some girls wrist,,but hey,,,that could be just them too and freak weak wrist,,lol,,,but i tell you what,,my brothers 45/70 cabine rifle hurts my arm,,and i bet it would kick like hell in a revolver,,,a desart eagle dont kick as bad,,because most of the power is took up in the action,,,some revolers are known for putting the hurt on people,,,,but most men have nothing to fear from shooting the biggest of hand guns,,lol unless there just scared,,,my 44 dragoon kicks anuff for me

and for my long range smooth shooting pistol,,i have a 1914 ernfert long barrel luger<~~talk about the smoothest shooting gun i ever shot!! has 800 yard ladder sites, and suprizing,,its good too about 350 yards,,should see the people laugh when im hitting the same targets they are and they got rifles lol,,place for stock,,and you can even get a 38 round drum clip for it,,and its legal,,preban as hell,,lol,,only reason i like the old guns,,dont have as many restrictions
