I have been making a pest of myself on a Muslim extremist bulletin board. I've done everything I can to insult and enrage the Osama bin Laden supporters at the site, and cause them to doubt the authenticity of those who post there.
What I did over time was open many different hotmail accounts under fake names - and then register on the extremist board using the fake email addresses, and then proceed to post disruptive, inflammatory posts until being kicked off by the administrator. Then I would open another account and start all over again - sometime juggling 3 different accounts, and even answering my own posts.
Well, I hit on the bright idea of impersonating the administrator (long unpronouncable Arabic name) by changing one letter in his name and stealing his avatar, which was unique on the board. I caused a great deal of havoc on that board last night untill being banned and all my posts deleted. (I am still on the board under other names though.)
My problem is this. Just before getting banned last night, someone identified my IP Address, my ISP, and the fact that I have an ADSL connection, and posted it publically for all these rabid extremists to read.
When I saw this, I immediately shut down my computer and unplugged the phone line. I happened to have a copy of Zone Alarm, so I installed it. I had been running only Windows XP firewall. Is there anything else I should do?
