It'll be interesting to see how this thread develops. I had a 1v1 in a 109G-6 against a Mossie. Turned into a vertical, looping fight. Looked like I was losing ground, so I broke out and ran for it. The Mossie ran me down and slaughtered me. Made me suspicious, but it WAS just one engagement.

As far as I can tell, the Mossie handles verticle manuvers quite poorly. Unlike other fighters, a Mossie at 360mph has to do a loop, it can't safely go verticle. If it points its nose up and lets the speed get too low it risks a stall in which it slides backwards into the ground. I've had this happen several times offline and have never been able to recover, or even alter, the stall. If the Mossie starts at 360mph and does a loop it is down to about 130mph at the top of the loop.

The way to kill the Mossie is to use its poor climbing characteristics against it. It is also a big target that is fairly fragile.

Unless you are in a really fast fighter, and near co-E, don't try to dive away from it.

The Bf109G-6 should be able to climb away from the Mossie if you have addequate separation to avoid it cutting your corner or staying level and then pulling up for a parting shot.

Yeah, poorly enough to zoom after yakU, keep closing at zoom and kill it finally with long spraying and praying.

I do not think it shall be perked though. Why? It is not good enough to be perked. Same time its ENY and OBJ values shall be decressed greatly, 25/25 is more than it shall be.

its got alot of Boom but no real Zoom. the MkIV is very fragile and used only at night as a fighter to vulch or as a very fast bomber.. you have to remember that this came out around the same time as the spit V.

I think it shoulds stay the same ENY/OBJ, it's not really a good fighter, yeah it can turn a bit but it drains e bad. It's not as good as say a DHog or P-51D which are at 18ENY. And i do a lot better in the P-47D-30 (29ENY) then I do in the Mossie.

Also if it zoomed with you it may have had a lot more E than you. Everything isn't always "textbook" it's always dependent on somethings. Even 10MPH can make a difference in a fight.

Moose I honestly don't know. I've been flying, fighting and dying so much I don't recall. Been having a blast though, after a 2 1/2 month hiatus.

The Mossie is definitely the star of 1.08 now that the Schwalbe has been perked. I'm seeing alot of them up. Its a much better plane than the WarBird's Mossie, that's for sure! Its got a 6-view, and you can crank your head up to see over the nose for take-offs. Firepower seems absolutely devastating.

IMHO, the Mossie is fine the way it is. Why everyone is complaining about it is a mystery to me personally.

I'm no Mossie expert, but if memory serves correctly, it was basically a flying piece of plywood, powered by two merlin engines (right?) The 38, again, from what I've gathered since I've been playing AH, is actually a much better fighter than the Mossie (everything considered), but I don't see everyone whinning about it not being perked.

Besides...as the last release proved, once everyone gets used to it being there, its use will probably decrease.

Anyhoo, there's my opinion, and it's exactly that.

I think this post has to be in jest... Can't be serious... can he? Oh wait.. there's the smiley. Keerist I got a negative K/D in that thing - but I've loved every minute of flying that crate.
