No one is a saint - if it is red it is dead.

Indeed in a many versus many fight you need to clear each other's sixes and take every easy "pick" of the bandit that presents itself. It is not a bunch of duels running in parallel.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

The P-38 can be a pain in the tush.

If you misjudge his "E" state and its ability to climb, along with its ability to kill from far, far out, in the hands of a really good stick it can make you look foolish even if you hold the Alt and supposedly the hole card in the fight. The K4 is in the same group yet the 38 has so GD lazer guns in its nose and makes it such a lethal gun package.

As someone who flies the Mk1 Hurri and Mossie VI, I always find it highly rewarding when a late war aircraft goes kaboom!

Pshaww, P-38s are easy kills as long as you avoid fighting them at high speeds, at low speeds, in the vertical, or in stallfights  :devil

There was a time, long long long long... oops maybe not that long time ago, when the P-38L (our only 38) was feared and respected in AH main.
Then again, the P-38L and P-47D30 (no typo) were considered fast planes then, I was connecting to the internet with a phone-line 36600 modem, my stick was connected to a COM port, HTC was charging me 24.95$/month, and the trees were barking at the dogs that pee'd on them.

It is time the TWINS got some of that respect back! The 38s and the mossies, the 110s and 410s, the Beaufighters and Whirlwinds.
1. So first thing, and this is absolutely vital to this plan <hee..hee..>, is to get HTC to model the last two.
2. Second, disable all ordnance above 500lbs on these planes to stop them from being used as bomb trucks. For the love of cod! there is nothing more humiliating to a P-38L than loading it up with explosives like a suicide-mule in Iraq and driving it into the town with absolutely no intention of coming back or shooting at an enemy plane. Look at the mossie - only 500lbs, dignity maintained. Mostly maintained in the hangar, but maintained.
3. Third <hee..hee>, is to agree that no TWIN shall shoot at another TWIN as long as there are puny little single engine fighters in icon range <hee..hee..>.

 :rofl :lol :D :rofl
OK I crack myself up, there is no way I keep #3...

No way I could adhere to #3.  I enjoy killing P38 glory-boys and tea-sipping Mossie flyers in a 110, which is of course the only respectable TWIN.   ;)

I avoid killing 410s, due to a strange mixture pity and respect for pilots crazy enough to dogfight in one.   :lol

i don't nesseceraly think that it's the plane thats outclassed--sure there are fast planes-slow ones-middle speed ones--and planes that turn better than other's--i think it has to do with the pilot--good ones-bad ones-middle ones.a good pilot can often take a middle or bad plane and get 3 or 4 kills in it..etc..viceversa and so on.i fly primarly fly the p-51d..i'm somewhere between bad and middle...i once asked what plane was good against a ki-84--and was told a ki-84---which if i'm not behind him/her  i'm dead. :joystick:

thats not really a fair fight....

you actually fight, but the differences between the 2 make it extremely hard fight for the 51, even using excellent BnZ tactics....

the Ki84 does everything good.... climbs like a banshee....reverses insanely fats....hangs on the prop with the best of them...actually it probably is the best at that....excepting maybe the 38.....

it can take a massive amount of damage, which is a huge benefit....
the guns are very fast firing so you put a lot more rounds out in a short burst....then you normally would in other 20 mm planes.....

ya it is bad arse :rock
