I agree Bounder. The Holy Grail is funny - but it loses its comic appeal when people start quoting it. To be frank.

For someone who is supposed to be so closely related to me, he's a complete tard. :D Yeah, and I don't want any smart-alec comments thank-you. I've always thought he was adopted.

BTW, I liked Terry's letter. His series on the crusades was excellent.

I read the letter and found it both amusing and quite agreeable, but then Im a big fan of Terry Jones and his humour.

I didn't bother responding about that specifically cause I couldn't be bothered getting into a pissing contest over Iraq again...however I couldn't help myself with the French soldiers because of the purile nature of this BBS concerning the French, and mostly because I knew Straffo would get a chuckle - something that has become a few and far thing for him in  the O'Club of late.

The letter kinda missed a somewhat relavent point. The suspected mass murderer down the street did in fact break down the door of his neighbor 12 years ago and murdered many of the family therein. And in the 12 years since has not shown repentance but rather has been rebuilding his arsenal to what end is anyone's guess.

How is it such facts can be so conveniently forgotten or ignored?

And he was dealt with then too.

"And in the 12 years since has not shown repentance .."

Not all criminals are.  Being repentive or not is itself however not a crime.

"...but rather has been rebuilding his arsenal to what end is anyone's guess. "

Several empty shells, suspect US intellegence reports  and a couple of developmental rockets are an "arsenal"?  lol You've been wwatching CNN too much.

As to what end? Well if his next door neighbors aren't worried enough to do somthing about this supposed "arsenal" he's rebuilt why should any one else?

 factslike a first year .

What did his neighbors do when he invaded Kuwait?

Do you think Saudi Arabia and others wouldn't be very worried if the US said "to hell with it, do what you want"?

Being repentive was a condition for his staying in power. At least he was left there because he more or less promised to be.

News Flash dolf, just because a word is in the bible doesn't make it religious.

Repent
1. To feel remorse, contrition, or self-reproach for what one has done or failed to do; be contrite.
2. To feel such regret for past conduct as to change one's mind regarding it: repented of intemperate behavior.
3. To make a change for the better as a result of remorse or contrition for one's sins.

Also, Saddam begged us to stop and agreed to our conditions. Maybe you're not old enough to remember when it happened but I do.

eh?

I never understand these quaint american colloquialisms. They often contain the words bellybutton and toejam, which in itself is quite revealing.

I have no problem laughing. This BBS keeps me in a near state of paroxysmic laughter most of the time. I just don't let it creep into my posts or I'd never finish them.

So go on, 'fill me in' what does 'stick up your ass' mean in its idiomatic sense?

Look it up.  The Internet can be a wonderful resource.  I'd try and explain it, but I'm probably too much of a heathen to express myself to you appropriately.

Well SOB, I followed your advice.

I don't think I'm better than anyone else. If you have an inferiority complex then that's your business.

More interestingly, the site which I found the reference:

Just better than the "hordes of idiots" who would do something as juvenille as quoting Monty Python on a message board?

Hordes of idiots would fill their keyboard buffers full of the word 'spam' and then dump it into the room they were in, whenever anyone mentioned 'vikings'.

Well, ok the first time I saw it, it was quite funny, but after the first 200 times and endless requests to stop doing it, I came to the conclusion that they were idiots. Nothing to do with this BBS.

I called the people regurgitating Monty Python on this BBS tedious.

No one doing that here is there?

No the thing I like about this BBS, apart from the sheer joy of winding people up (and the agony of being wound up) is that we all share the same idiotic pasttime.
