joystick problem

problem is it dont work at all

  I upgraded my computer today including the OS from 98se to 2000pro thing is when loading 2000pro it erased all files accociated with AH even had to redownload AH
 
 Anyway I have a siatek 220 digital I reloaded the sw and drivers that came with it at purchase the os sees the joystick and gives a status ok go to AH setup it shows up I go to recailbrate it  it takes when I start the game joystick does not work at all .

 Is there somthing I missed.

Make sure you mapped the joystick in AH as well.  I believe you have to assign each axis a function when you first use a controller in AH.

did that and still dont work,but when I try to calibrate thats where the problem is it seems to spike an aweful lot so ill take it apart and clean it real good and try it again.

  Make sure you have the joystick selected as the preferred controller for AH.  The default is the mouse, make sure you highlight your joystick.  (in the joystick setup screen of AH)

  If you do not have a FF joystick, make sure you "disable all forces" in the "forcefeedback" section under joystick setup.

try reinstalling DX.

Tried all that shane and maniacal when I took it apart was very dirty cleaned it and did what you guys said and still no joy.

  So I went and got a new one a siatek cyborg 3d with ff so far I like it alot BTW the old stick had about 1200 hrs on it I suspect it was just worn out it was only $20 bucks.
