RW in AH 1.03 ...
« on: June 15, 2000, 03:01:00 PM »
From Dogfighter ... ". Integrated support for Roger Wilco"

I count myself as 1 of many (maybe few ?) who, for one reason or another, do not play AH on line but dl the software to try it out.

Now my question is this - Will installing AH ver 1.03 in anyway modify/compromise the install use of RW in other sims ?

Cheers,

Good question.

Add on,  can I run the games version AND a stand alone RW session at the same time?
Reason would be for scenario use mostly where I would use the text channels for country channel but use the games built in vox for squadron coms while also using a stand alone session of RW on another channel for coms woth just your wingy?

Westy,

My guess (and it is a guess) is no. But the way HT explained it to me was as follows.
Anyone who has RW that tunes a priv channel
(100 -???) will have RW automaticly tuned to that channel.

So for scenarios etc, command can be on exp 250, one flight on 150, 1 flight on 140 etc.

You'll be able to tune each of them in as needed, by tuneing the radio channel.

Mind you all this is a conversation that happened a month ago. So don't quote me on this please.

G'day  I'm only new to this game{i play WB} but but for our squads purpose I have created a Roger Wilco base station. This allows us to tune in to the same IP# all the time as it never changes so maybe if you got one of these it may solve your problem .
You Can get the Dwnload for Base station on RW's home page.

The difference here, adom, if I understand correctly, is that we will be able to change RW channel from within AH, without having to ALT-TAB to the desktop!

BTW no need for a base station. Resounding has a base station working, and our squads (303, 308 and 315 Squadrons) have been using it for months without problems. To my knowledge it's only failed once during our squad events.

Thanks Ghost. Might be time to finally check out TeamSound for the additional capability.
I love RW. I'm just thinking of how to go about having two vox channels at once and with RW now to be incorporated in AH I thought there may come a conflict.
Maybe not. Will have to wait and see..

I don't know how it's going to work, but it would be sweet if the RW channels were tied to the current text radio system.

I.e. If I tune my voice radio to channel 4 I get my Squadron, channel 2 I get my country, etc.  If I want to run ops I can set a 3-digit channel and everybody can tune it.

Basic outline of how the rw will work.

1. When AH Starts up if RW is on your system it will start it for you.

2. Tuning will happen by just setting the 5th radio box to any of the tuneable channels i.e. channels you here only if tuned 100 - 299.

3. RW will be shut down when you exit AH, unless you had started it yourslef.

4. AH Will set your RW handle to the same as in AH.

5. The MIC Funtion on the joystick setups will also key RW for you.

This is great!    I knew someone was going to do it, and I'm not suprised HTC will be the first.

Will HTC be using the Resounding Base Station, or are you installing a RogerWilco Base Station of your own?

How many people can you get tuned in on one channel ? Could you get an entire country?? That would be crazy   You would have like 40 people all yacking away.
