Wondering if any of you know of any good free sites where a person can upload their screenshots to.

if you have an FTP program you can use http://www.netfirms.com. Sign up there and then upload your images via FTP. The other day they made it so you have to have the images on your website if you want to direct link them, so make a index.htm file with all of the images you want like so:

http://www.xnachox.netfirms.com/Bf109.JPG">, and upload the index.htm. Then you're able to hotlink them. Sorry if I'm a little vague, I'm tired. Reply if you still need some help and I'll get back to ya.

Ok well FTP's are used to transfer files. I use http://www.smartFTP.com and I find it works the best. Once you set up a netfirms account you can connect to the FTP address they provided you and begin uploading files. There are probably some help files on the website on how to use smart FTP. Best to learn how to use them now, than when you really need them

I uploaded some files to my WWW folder but i'm not sure how to link em. And when i go to my site's address it says : Welcome to the new website of tailgunr. so... did i do something wrong if not how do i link my files....er find their url lol.

Ok, good. You should have an address something like mine: http://www.xnachox.netfirms.com. Now if i want to link and image it would be http://www.xnachox.netfirms.com/(image name).jpg. Remember everything is case sensitive. You're going to have to set up and index.htm file and upload it so that your images are displayed on the site instead of the "Welcome to.....". I'll upload mine and you just put the name of the picture where it says. . Once you upload the index.htm file so the pictures are displayed on the main site it will allow you to hotlink them. I hope you understad. I'm not very good at explaining this stuff

edit: the reason you need an index.htm now is because they want to stop people from stealing bandwidth by just hotlinking. This is the simplist way to get around it

ALlright i put your index folder into my site. It's right with the screenshots. I copied the screenshots url's and pasted them to the html code in that index file then i saved it. But ... i go to the website and it shows red X's and the URL of the red X's are---

hmm maybe it matters what folder my screenshots are in? They are in the www folder

the www folder is fine.

The (your account) was meant to be replaced by the you signed up with, and you put the name of the picture before .jpg. Edit the index.htm file like that and then re-upload it. Now your images should display on the site like this: http://www.xnachox.netfirms.com

I dragged and droped that index file from the .zip window into the WWW folder.......then i said VIEW the index file.. I made the changes and saved but then when i go to my website they show that "youraccount.netfirms"

no no. before you upload it, right click on the .htm file and open with >> notepad. Edit it that way. Sorry for not explaining that earlier

I knew I had forgot something.

edit: after you're done editing it, zip it up and post it here and I'll give it a look over.
