Suggestion for CV landings
« Reply #15 on: September 01, 1999, 07:30:00 AM »

I posted a request in one of the other threads here to have a 'Carrier Only' terrain available. I wont go into all the details but basically it was for a terrain that only has small amounts of land at each corner that were too far away to be attacked unless from carriers.  Judging from the replies in this thread it seems many people are unhappy with the idea of landing on a carrier so maybe it would not catch on. Personally I dont have much problem with landing but I tend to be a bit unothodox in my methods ie I approach level with the deck at just above stall then pull up at the last minute and stall on

Roblex try crabbing in using rudder to one side and aileron to another.  With practice you can fly a straight line but with your nose pointed to the side, allowing a nice view.

Also the rudder input acts as a nice speed brake if you are too hot!
