The Web site you are attempting to visit has been restrained.

The above is what people see when they go to a website that John Ashcroft (R-Insane) has raided and had removed from the Internet.

Last time, it was the bong sites.

What's next on Nazicrofts list?

How long before they shut down "traitorous" web sites that
don't worship Chimpy and his family's global power grab?

We're watching you boy! Ya'll better toe the line or I'll send my Brothers in White Sheets to get you!

I don't agree with weazle's politics, being on the libertarian end of th e spectrum, but ashcroft in a zealot.

If some of the crap he is doing doesn't frighten you, then I don't think you are paying enough attention.

What's wrong with shutting down a store which sells illegal items?

I always thought that selling bongs, pipes and that kind of stuff was legal.
You can see all of that in stores in malls around here, LA, Seattle, NY, and some other places Ive been to.

I'm pretty sure bongs and what not ARE legal... I don't believe they are classified as paraphenalia until they show signs of usage.

I know for a fact there use to be one of those shops in DC below a tattoo parlor, and I know for a fact Baltimore has several of them.

put a moustache on him and he kinda looks like the picture of Big Brother from 1984...  ;)

according to the article, the paraphernalia was illegal.  (or should that be "were illegal")

I don't think that stuff should be illegal, but it is illegal.  The AG doesn't make laws, he enforces them.  I don't see how you can fault them for shutting down the stores and using the stores' records to investigate buyers.  Do you want them to enforce the law of the land or not?

OK, I'm a webidiot. But is it possible that these sites could be located outside the US?

Also, should we have a reasonable expectation of privacy when we surf the web?
