Frenchy - is that Tornado as in the Panavia Tornado?

I remember it - I found it very hard, but I remember using the autopilot-terrain radar thing - great fun. The tracer looked great too.

I say chaps, what we really need is more Bwitish planes,eh, what. Beaufighter for torpedo attacks and Mosquito fighter/bomber for dealing with those beastly ack thingies.

....that might be true, but it might also be possible that with a wider plane set people would choose a wider variety of planes and it would be mixed up more.

the goal is just to have pretty much all of em isn't it? terrain plays a big role too - i will fly an earlier plane when the terrain lends itself to one on one's. the late war planes are really best in the furballs but you can get kills in an oldie 1-1.

I would prefer it being a perk with a very small cost, such as 5-10 perk points but agree that it could only be launched in the vicinity of the HQ.  The only problem I could see is imagining 10-20 Me163s upping to down a couple of buffs!  Be quite a sight but it can already prove pretty difficult to hit the HQ unless your fields are close by.  One way around having the Me163 as a no-perk plane is limit the plane to say a set number allowed to launch per hour (between 5 & 25??).  The reason I say that is that the defending pilots would purely be aiming for the bombers and not endlessly relaunching to hit all the buff escorts as well.  Think that would be overkill.

Anyway, I'd vote for it Ripsnort, in any way possible!

I don't believe the Ar-234 ever used rockets as weapons.  Well unless they did not use the RATO packs on take off then dropped them on the bomb run...:0

Only early Japanese aircraft lacked armor.  Both of the Japanese aircraft we have here had some armor, in the case of the N1K2 about as much as you'd get on a British, American, German or Russian fighter.

Hellcat pilots would describe fights in which the Zero they'd been engaging just would not catch fire.  The reason was that they were fighting N1Ks, J2Ms and various Ki fighters that had armor, not Zeros.

The stereotype of all Japanese aircraft lacking armor is a myth.
