Politics on channel 1...

Just have to go. Lately, every time I log on there are at least 5 people expressing their views on the war in Iraq, or some other war which is long since over. Personally, I don't think politics belong in channel 1. I know that I can just type '.squelch 1', and I usually end up doing so, but should I, and the many others who feel the same way as I, have to? Many people, myself included, log on to the main arena to have fun and get away from what's going on in the world, whatever that may be.

There is a place for political discussion, and channel 1 isn't it. If you want to talk politics, use the o'club or talk to someone in private. Don't subject those who have no desire to hear your opinions to them through the use of channel 1.

You're missing the point. The majority of them couldn't get anyone to listen to them at the point of a gun...so they NEED the captive audience of CH1 .

WEll spoken Wetrat, but i fear it wown't help. There are a few who don't come to play but to express themselves and those few can surely take out the fun of the game .

The drivel on channel one didn't bother me in AW. But here in AH where you have around 500 or so folks in the arena, the text scrolls really fast - compounding the fact that you must read around the drivel. Even without all the non-game talk it's harder to keep track of a conversation.

Having said this, I can certainly live without channel one, so it's ulimately no big deal...

Ya, there's nothing like helpin a guy out, makin a good play, only to see five minutes later that his politics absolutely sucks.  I say keep it to the O-Club.  It affects my ability to provide check 6s to guys who I don't agree with.  Been still doing it, mostly but it's tough.  Focus on the game, that's why I'm here.

Before we all just surrender to channel 1 dweebiness lets have a little fun with the dweebs. Randomly tighten and relax the filter on certain words and common sayings...some days you can say Iraq..some days you can't. Make some instant "you lose" words...so for instance first tuesday of the month sayin Osama automatically kicks your dweeb bellybutton to the desktop. Of course HTC doesn't tell anyone about the changes...so we can all kick back and watch the delicious chaos.

Also think they should use the CM eye more and wait till one of the biggest mouths actually gets some kills and is coming in for final...then PUNT. Then spice up the pop up windows...I think "that's for spewing on chnl1 so much, sorry bout the K/D hit you dweeb" would work nicely.

Lots of whining, lots of crying...heck maybe we'll get lucky and some of em will quit. Here's to the H8.

What moderators? I haven't seen anybody getting dumped for anything in ages. I always forget about squelching ch 1 until I've been on about 30 seconds then it's "I'm a nazi!" "Saddam rulz!" "shreckin hacker cheater!" which reminds me.... squelch ch 1.

No silly, thats not my name. My name is just Bumba, the Air comes from my long distinguished flying carreer in Air Congo. One of Africas best airlines I might add, not to boast or nothin, but I've crashed less than any other Air Congo  pilot still alive. AND I will add, no Air Congo plane has ever been hijacked! What do you people that do not like political chat on chan 1 use chan 1 for?  taunts? weather reports? crying and whinning about HOs or alt monkey whines. Get a life and if your dont like chan 1 just squelch it or buy HTC out and impose your own censorship.
