S!

Thunder..With all respect. That swastika You see on the G-2 is NOT in ANY way related to the NSDAP one. This blue swastika was used by a Swedish Count Von Rosen as a lucky emblem long BEFORE the little crazy man even dreamt of being the ruler of half the world. And it was painted on FAF's first A/C Morane Parasol back 1918.Note also that this swastika lies on its side and the other one stands on it's tip and is black. So I don't see any problem it being there for historical accuracy..and ain't that what we ant here? More info can be found if You read the story of this emblem form LLv34 homepages, link in the signature.

No reason the Finns should have to rewrite there history because of the unfortunate cooincidence of the nazis using an insignia that the FAF used.

FScott. From very far distances the clouds do look worse. And from some angles they dont look as good as from others. They arent perfect. But the effect can be spectacular. And holds lots of promise for what can be done.

You guys wanna see REAL clouds in a sim? If you have FS2000 then download a demo of FSClouds. It expands on FS2000's clouds to make some of the most realistic effects I've seen. Much better than even WB3 clouds. And when you fly into the clouds, you actually see the whisps wisking by your aircraft, rather than a solid grayout as we have in AH.

It would be nice if that effect could be done in AH, but perhaps the engines are too different.

Thunder..

The Finnish cross is called the Rosen Cross, nothin to do with the ego maniac who wanted to extermiate everyone and claim the world as his.

It was being used long before Germany picked it up..

Dog out..........

Now, on my system the clouds transition very smoothly... I think it just *may* have something to do with the fact I run in 32bit. (note the sarcasm)

Switch between Shift F1 and shift F2 from outside the cloudbank.  I have always seen a difference in the clouds at least from the exterior between the 2 view settings.

Ok, against my better judgement...

How many players you have on FS2000 at once? What is the frame rate? I know you don't feel that we should be concerned about lower-end machines, but I suspect you can't get 200 people into FS2000 at once (at least, not in the same game), and if you did I am pretty sure there would be a price in fps.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for pretty- if I get good performance. Performance is far more important to gameplay than comparing what graphic feature your game has compared to "theirs". Don't twist this to mean I am against improvements in all aspects of the game, but your opening of course illicited a reaction from many. FWIW I like the clouds right now.
