Very interesting.  Seems a particular message in this thread was deleted.  If this was your own doing shane, thank you.  If it was not, I would be interested in finding out what happened.  Was this an HTC intervention?

i removed it; i realize some people are just too myopic and not worth the effort to slap down when they can't even understand what they're seeing.

Well with the reports in it seems JG 3 did fairly well in attacking the bomber stream Tuesday but we lost all our planes doing it!

The massed defensive firepower from the bombers was a tough nut to crack. The escort didn't provide that big of a problem. In fact several pilots reported they could have got several of the 47's on the way in had they not been ordered to go after bombers.
Seems our biggest enemy was HTC's servers! We had 6 Disco's on the flight out!

JG 3 fielded 11 pilots and with 10 reports in here is the total:

7 x B-17 Kills
5 x B-17 Assts.
2 x P-47 Kills
1 x P-47 Assts.

I will have to say I wasn't that impressed with the Ta-152's performance either. If there was any monster out there it was the B-17! With one player being able to control 3 aircraft's guns you would do better to leave the escort home and put them in bombers for more ord on target!

Anyway a good time was had by all and I must saw the sight of Luftwaffe and Allied planes filling the skies what QUITE IMPRESSIVE! to all that took part and erg for getting it started.

Next time the BOB set-up comes out we need to see if we can work up a massive JU-88 raid to recipricate.

actually, no it didn't - i just didn't think lowe's total confusion about what really occurred in that time frame were worth the effort to slap down.

i think it's people who made truly personal attacks that resulted in this occurring.  ya know, those people like *you* who try and make insults based on misconceptions about real life when real life has very little to do with game play.  nothing actually.

glad to have cleared that up for you.

i'm sooo admiring the great job that jester "did" in "coordinating the defensive efforts.  his outstanding work resulted in absolutely zero buffs dying before they reached target - or at least that's the way i understand it according to what you posted. despite having to fairly decent sized groups to work with and an intercept that was an easy sector and half away from target.

great job jester!!

snork.

Shane such sarcasim against Jester!! Whatsa matter you not getting enough attention?
If you don't like what I say why attack Jester?

You know I went back and reviewed the film seems I was wrong , you did try and coordinate attacks once the buffs were inbound. I guess because of your usual insults, temper tantrums about 30 minutes earlier I quit paying attention to you. What is the deal with you, does anything positive ever come out of you? Or have you got your I'm an prettythanghole switch safety wired to the on position?

Geez man the only thing that overshadows your great  ability at this game, is your inability to not to act like a psoiled  child.

hmmm, you're wrong about one thing, what else are you most likely wrong about?

was jester at all on ch2? i don't recall seeing any coordination on ch2 coming from jester.

i think perhaps *you* got *your* switches hard-wired to hump my ankle. your inital response proves it.

as for my "compliment" to the way jester "coordinated" things; well, i guess that goes back to the way you tried to make it sound like he did all that and tried to slam me at the same time don't throw rocks if you don;t any coming back at ya - again, i don't recall seeing anyone other than myself on ch2 communicating things except for a few posreps. not everyone has vox or knew to tune to some special channel.

but then i guess it was you two squads doing things your own way.  "if anyone worked to coordiante the lw it was jester."  really? care to post a screenie of him on ch2? if you're gonna try and toot horns, make sure it was at least done in the manner you suggested it was.  go back and review that film, and you'll see i only made suggestions, the most important one being to form up in one big gaggle. too bad film doesn't show the dar flow at that point.  refer to nifty's post for a little insight.

again, good job!!

and please, bear this in mind... you never see me deliberate misrepresent things, unlike a few of you i can name. i may be many things, but delusional isn't one of them. focus, son, focus. try and keep up.

reeding iz phundimental. please try and keep up. okay, maaaaaybe a few buffs bought it from the lw before they reached target, but it seems most of the action occurred *after* the drop. jolly good show!

you guys don't fly in scenarios (much, if at all) do you?  how about snapshots or TOD's? i suggest ya'll give them a try and learn something more about tactics.

Shane, I think Lowe was refering to my actions before the event in trying to round up Squadrons for the Luftwaffe to put in the air. I contacted 13th Sentai & IV/Jabostaffel and even tried to drag some of our old JG 51 bunch over from IL-2.

13th Sentai & JG 3 did launch together from A2 and patroled South of the A4 area in case they came that way. Knowing erg I thought he might do something "shady." ;) I did not transmitt on CH.2 much other than to pick up a few stragglers and put them on our common text ch. of 173 (You can ask Kanttori about that.) and the several times I transmitted the location, course & alt of the bombers for everone. Our goal was to locate and fix the bomber stream and perhaps draw the escort off if we could. The escort wouldn't leave the bombers so seeing the bombers starting their bomb runs we attacked when they were their most vulnerable.
I did direct our action a litttle with 13th Sentai so we could cover more turff.
We intercepted one large radar blip but on seeing it was just a mass of P-47's we broke contact and headed back to the A4 area where we picked up the bombers just before their drop. That's where we made our kills.

While I don't consider my actions in the grand light Lowe does I am pleased with it. Our squad (and others) saw plenty of action, had fun and learned something and that is what really counts. We will adjust our tactics and maybe we will do better next time.

Are you "volunteering" to direct all Luftwaffe units next time this little event comes around Shane or are you just "Humping my Ankle again."  ;)
