AH2 will be a huge overhaul of AH.  That is about the limit of what we know.  The current AH plane models may or may not be compatible with HTC's new and improved system--they really haven't commented on whether that is the case, so we don't know.  I mean, it wouldn't be taking HTC the better part of a year for this update if it wasn't a massive change.

Oh I'd agree that HTC will probably transfer over most of the current AH planeset to AH2.  However, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the truly useless planes remain absent (un-used junk like the Hurricane 2D comes to mind).    Given their timetable, it wouldn't make much sense to transfer over units which have proven to be worthless, unless the transfer is quite easy.

To counter that, I seem to recall HTC remarking that their new plane-adding tools are less time-consuming than what they currently have, which would suggest they'll be able to add new equipment at a faster rate after the initial release.

One unchanging fact is we apparently won't be seeing anything new through the summer.

J_A_B - kinda full of yourself aren;t ya??

I enjoy the Hurricane IID. Just because you don't doesn't make it "junk"

Not saying there aren't individuals who don't like stuff like the Hurricane IID, but it HAS been one of the most consistently least-used airplanes in the AH inventory, not only in terms of MA usage, but also in terms of CT use and event utility (sorry though for calling it "junk", perhaps bad taste on my part).  Besides, I was using it as a mere example.  With the stated European focus of AH2, it's also possible that we may not initially have some of the popular AH aircraft, such as some of the F4U variants.

OTOH it's equally possible that HTC my indeed be able to incorporate all existing units into AH2.   We will see  :)  My point was that HTC has been somewhat vague as to exactly what specific units we will have in AH2, so it may be premature to assume that all existing units will be represented in the initial release.    I would surely expect some of the models to be missing from the Beta release, whenever it happens.

If Memorie serves they said in the AH2 forum at some point that they would all be available, and that we would be geting some more planes when it came out.

I'll call the Hurri IID junk then if JAB's no longer permitted to. And if you'd like, I'll grab most if not all planes in the Aces High inventory and beat you silly with it.

Been told that AH2 will support the old terrains. There may be some 'retro' fits done on them.

Hehe sorry Palef. I honestly find it to be a sub-par aircraft in the MA environment tho. I know you may fly it, but there were a few people who bought Lada's too....dosen't mean it was a superior automobile.

I think what hurts that plane the most is that I don't feel the 303's are modelled to have the effect that they had. They historically put a lot of lead into the air in a hurry, but that isn't modelled to the AH .303's advantage.

CR42 was a great plane.
A brother of my grandmother died into it in the skies of Albania, during ww2.
If interested in the plane or in the story, have a look to :

if we get these italian planes, we need the Gloster gladiator (faith, Hope and Charity markings) and malta scenery so we can shoot them all down :D

Faith, Hope & Charity fought for 17 days without relief & played a fundamental role in fooling the Italian intelligence into thinking Malta had a substantial fighter defence
