B17 belly turret, dorsal turret and waist gunners being able to shoot through their own plane's airframe is silly and adds more firepower at certain angles which wouldn't be possible in real life.

Perhaps this could be fixed?

thanks

I think the biggest flaw in guns firing through things is the ack.  I think the ack should be given more priority than the B17 guns IMHO.  Doesn't bother me that much but it can be annoying when it fires through hangars etc...

I agree with Replicant.  Frustrating to see ack shooting you through a hangar and you cannot even see the ack to shoot back.

Using buildings as a shield should be possible.

I can hear the howls now....
"he wiped out our hangers w/o firing a shot, just drove a tank around the field"

but yeah, this really needs to be fixed

sounds more like the ack are shooting a con THROUGH the hangar.

This issue with the B-17, and other "clipping" issues with the 3D engine has ALWAYS perturbed me. Back in the open beta days, it drove me nuts, what a stupid thing to overlook. When they announced they were going pay for play, I had to laugh. Simple fixes ignored for so long.

Reason why I am not paying as much as $30 bucks yet..
IMHO, AH is not yet ready for 30 bucks / month, at least not with my non-existant richness.

Fishu,

If you're not paying and playing, why do you have almost 900 posts on BBS about a game you don't play?????

Another question is why anyone should have any concern for your thoughts or opinions on the game if you don't participate? The rest of us just want to help make the game better because we play in it and LIKE it. We're not interested in just dumping criticism on it and the developers. If you don't think AH measures up either start your own game, play something else or just drop off the BBS. Criticism from someone who doesn't participate is pretty much without value and substance.

I hadn't thought of that Capt.  Guess it would have to be set to stop firing when main object is between target and ack.      If the ack cannot then lock onto that target then it should lock onto the next nearest enemy target.

I think the ack should be able to shoot at multiple targets. As it is now, it only tracks the first inbound and ignores the rest even from multiple directions. Kinda bad if the attacker uses a "distractor" for the ack to focus on and the rest can shoot up the field without worry. By having one plane draw fire, even from just one ack the other attackers can do what they want without being fired on. All acks just track the same plane.
