Well, a bar is a public place too, or a place to eat that serves. If you are sitting down eating at your favorite restaurant, and some drunk fool attacks you, do you demand they stop serving at restaurants? Of course not. An irresponsible drunk is going to act like that no matter what the venue.

Each city establishes its own ordinances for drinking in public. Davis, CA (at least when I went to school there about 5 years ago) allows the public to drink anywhere on the street. Only a few public park areas have restrictions, and they are well posted.

No, a stadium or ball park is not a public place. Nor is a bar or restaurant.

Am I penalized if a can't buy a beer at a sporting event because that venue has cut off sales because a couple of idiots ran onto the field? I would say yes.

Remember the earlier post about the hunter that accidentally killed his neighbor? If that state/country outlawed hunting because of that one idiot, am I being penalized? I would say yes.

If your state outlawed operating a motor vehicle because Rodney King drove his car into a house, are you being penalized? I would say yes.

I laugh everytime I see that clip. Hehe..forgot about Milbury. Man, did those guys scale that plexiglass in a hurry. And climbed those stairs in their skates like lightning!

The Bruins need that kind of hockey back at the Fleet Center in a big way! And some goal tending and some offense, and some checking........

I'm afraid things have changed since you left, everyone has become disenchanted(spell?) with the bruins. Jacops and sinden basically told the fans shut up and watch what we give you. People are getting fed up with an out of town owner who could care less about winning.

The Patriots are the talk of the town now. It's a year round thing. Gonna have a draft get together at a friends house down in weymouth. The new stadium is awesome. They are going to have training camp at the new stadium too. They will be open to the public. Got a few squadm8s that are local, gonna try to get together for a night practice.

And we will be drinking<-------added to prevent hijack

Was this the ESPN footage where a guy ran out mimicking a special Olympian, fell at the feet of a black umpire that looked to be well over 200 lbs and athletic if just not huge in comparison, and was pummeled by several professional ball players before the ump realized someone was flopping at his feet?

Had the ump not been looking at the catch, he would have just demolished the guy. Had he stepped back, he would have crushed him ending the drama without security.

And then to top it off, he was escorted off the field without any ill effects other than looking like a floundering fool, and emerged for the post event coverage covered in blood?

Yeah, ban alcohol.

2 things matter. That tool took a bellybutton whipping in private, and Eagler, God Bless You, but you really are the reason liberal rutabagas aren’t hated worse, cause there is always a militant conservative that screws it all up for the rest of us with reason.

Amazing, Eagler- we have- what, 30-50 thousand traffic fatalities a year from alcohol, our streets are full of drunk derelects, booze has ruined more lives than anything yet invented by man...but what FINALLY drives you over the top on this issue is one drunk a-hole staggering onto the field during a baseball game???

You could never be a good liberal Eagler because you just don't get it. True liberals have been asking for an alcohol ban for years- true liberals know it's the substance of abuse and not the substance of the person that creates sociatial problems- and true liberals would be searching for the reason this man ran onto the field.

Now go back to waxing your plastic pink flamingos while you drink a hi-ball. You might fool some others into believing you're compassionate, but I know deep down inside you were probably happy when that young man got his butt kicked on the field. You are just as mean as you ever were. Sheeeesh.

If there were no booze there would be no drunks. If there were no guns there would be no gun crimes.

I don't blame the drunks and the shooters- I blame America for not treating the cause of our problems but instead treats the symptoms of our problems.

That said, I don't really mind if they run on the field between innings. Just as long as it doesn't delay the game.

One time at an A's game we had a very fit and athletic guy come on to the field from next to the third base dugout, wearing nothing but shorts and running shoes. He took off down the first base line and tore around the bases at full speed. Reminded me of old films of Willie Mays. Anyways the fat security guards couldn't catch him, so they tried to wait for him on the third base line, but he hurdled one of them (who was diving), broke a leg tackle attempt by another one, then made a perfect hook slide to beat the last one. Then he jumped up in celebration and went off peacefully in handcuffs. Crowd went nuts, standing O.

That's just it, people would rather make excuses than be responsible for their actions. I like going out to eat, having a drink, relaxing and having conversation. It's a good time. Why should that be taken away from me because of someone else who exercises poor judgement?

Why not I.D. these people? You have to show I.D. to drink. Why not put something on it to I.D. people like the one who ran onto the field. If you are convicted of drunk driving, or and act in public due in part to drinking, why not put something on their I.D. that prevents them from being served in a public venue? Just a thought.
