Not a problem in Holland, there aren't any hills so a landslide would be kinda apocalyptic and all the roads are straight.   And taking any corner on the road at 140+ is a daft idea at the best of times.  If ya can't see round the bend you shouldn't be doing silly speeds.

The "flick" is needed when you're calming motoring down a straight road minding your own business when a avacado in a metal box pulls out from a side road.  A R6 will do it well.  A Hog or a Hayabusa will slam into the back of him.  And incidentally, how does riding a big arsed fast bike help in the situation you describe?

Fastest I've ever been on the road was 155mph......at 1am on a sunday morning in August up an empty 6 lane highway, well, empty except for the Ferrari who wanted a race, but he was behind me and doesn't count.

I don't normally do much in the way of nannying but...

Isn't it true that your: "motorcycle protective gear (rayban wayfarer II's)"

drastically failed the National Organization for Automative Safety El Dorado bumber collision test?

yep... Raybans offer allmost no lower leg pretection...  eldorado bumbers are also able to slice right through even the most seasoned levis and snip that ol leg off like the end of a good cigar...  this tends to get painful as the shock wears off.

swoop.. i thought you meant limeyland and... I have found that cars pulling out from side streets will kill any person riding a motorcycle if the timing is right.   I have thrown huge Harleys around ones that were turning right and simply stayed in their lane... they didn't even freak out till I was past em at least 100 yards. but.... NOBODY escapes the guy who turns left from a sidestreet whil you are going 100 plus and he sees you in tim to panic and..... stop dead... blocking both lanes.   even at 40mph or so is near impossible to stop if the cars timing is good (bad).  Till they figure out a safe way to levitate over those obstacles... you are riding a deathtrap and riding on borrowed time.,

I quit riding because, well, I got in enough freak and unavoidable accidents to know that there was no way anyone could have avoided it and... no bike made would have helped.  the hint for when to stop is....

When you tense up every time you see cars at a sidestreet or driveway.   It starts to just get less fun.

reminds me of when I had to lift my leg to avoid getting it taken off.. just like you describe.
slow neighborhood, saw the car on my right wanting to turn left across traffic and go the opposite direction I was going..
thought he saw me.. hell he looked right at me

but he didn't and pulled out right into me.. I swear I lifted my leg.. more out of reflex, and just missed the front bumper.

he never reacted so I chased his bellybutton down and kinda lost my temper for a few there...
even though I've been guilty of looking 'through' motorcycles myself.
