I think all "consensual crimes" should be legalized (for adults).

Gambling, prostitution, drug use, ticket scalping... you name it.

It is legal in the US.

Right between Utah and California.

I think that prophibitions in the US speak for themselves. Just do some comparison to Netherlands with quite an opposite approach to certain things.

Yep, it's not a US thing.  It's a state thing.  Take it to your state reps, not the US Congress.

Trying to stop prostitution is about as stupid as trying to stop people from smoking weed. Huge wastes of money and resources.

Yeah, legalize it and tax it instead.

The IRS can do a waaaaay better job of stamping out prozzies.

It's already legal in at least one state in the U.S. and there are I think a couple of cities that try to regulate it.  As someone pointed out before, in the U.S. it's not a federal matter but a state one so it's up to the individual states to pass laws legalizing prostitution.

If they legalize it I won't be able to charge women as much.  :(

No one gets hurt from drug use, or gambling?  Get real 10's of thousands die each year from drug related issues.  Not to mention the families and violence centered around the drug trade.  You think that if they legalise drugs that no one will get hurt?  Don't you think that the current "dealers" will get a bit upset that their piece of the pie will be gone?  I am sorry, but thats an assinine statement.  Gambling while not on the same plane as drug use is still not a wise choice, as it causes massive problems too.

As for prostitution, legalise it and make sure to regulate it.  The only one's that will be hurt are the brothels in Nevada where their prices will be driven down by the competition, and maybe sex crimes will go down (doubt it though)

The Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Nevada is a all- American establishment, as I just heard on the morning Channel 11 News that they are having a 50 day "Service Men Appreciation" (something like that)promo of sorts.

Discount, free t-shirts etc. for service men. If someone finds the news link, post it.

If drugs were 'legalized' there would be no drug trade, and these dealers would be out of the picture.

That said, I think the idea of drug legalization is very simplistic, and that it may cause more problems than it would solve.

Yes, prostitution should be legal, and regulated like any other "service" industry.  Safer for both the clients and the servers.

It would be interesting to see if legalized prostitution would cause a decrease in the number of rapes committed in the US.

Data?

Where is it?

The DOJ figures certainly don't support this claim.
