BTW all Imprezas have a center diff.  Viscous coupling LSD on the manuals, electronic active diff on the automatics and the STi models.  If you were eating up a WRX on gravel it probably had more to do with driver and tires than the car itself.

Problem with AWD's is the center diff is not lockable, and thats not as good on gravel. Lock the center diff and the off road performance improves greatly.

It's an LSD.  It automatically locks when there is a large difference between front and rear wheel speeds.

Its not the same thing Funked, there has to be a large difference for that to occur. AWD is not real 4WD.

When ya gonna upgrade to mans vehicle, with big man tyres, and big man seats, and a big mans engine?

Sure Vulcan, whatever you say.
Suzuki Samurais like yours dominate the gravel stages of the WRC while cars with center LSDs like the WRC Impreza can barely finish.
It's all clear to me now.

That's Paris-Dakar, more of a raid than a rally.  Mostly off-road, not what we have been talking about here.  :p
(Rallies take place on roads)

And keep telling yourself that your Geo Tracker is a big manly 4WD.  If you tried to run that smack in the US you would get laughed off the continent.  We crap bigger than that thing.  I'd love to see you brag about that little thing in front the guys I worked with in Colorado.  They'll show you real 4-wheeling.  Hand built Jeeps with small block Chevy motors, climbing boulders bigger than that entire rock you live on.  :D

Is that a banjo on the front seat Staga?

A rally's a rally funked ;) I'm suprised you'd ever heard of the WRC over there. Don't American motor sports generally involve going round in endliss ovals?

Do they even sell Pajero's there?
