Usual story: cut costs by getting rid of the guys doing the real work.

Wonder if IEN will be around 6 months from now?

TOTALLY baffled by their strategy (if any) they bring out Wbs3,which isnt finished, needs mucho more work,ESPECIALLY needs more people to play the bloody thing, thats why I left,20-30 folks in a main arena aint my idea of fun,THEN they bring out that Armoured assault crap and now Dawn of aces 3,and expect folks to pay that much to play em? I really admire the Wbs community for stickin with WBs this long, but it looks like the writing is on the wall, they should come over to AH and tell Wild Bill where to shove his company.

ROFLMAO....the fools continue to pay when they know Bill is milking it dry!
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I've never played WB so can't comment on the sim........but if what I hear is true, that player numbers are seriously low and they havn't had a program update in ages.......

Well I just don't get why they stick around when there's another quality sim with a bucket load of ex-WBs already playing......and it's cheaper too.

With a few of them, it has to do with being recognized in the current community they reside in(and fear of not being recognized in a new sim), or have some sort of role (CM, trainer, etc.) that gives them their daily dose of "someone needs me, I feel important", to put it blandly....

Or maybe they're like me and just too lazy to bother with learning new game stuff.  That's why I never went to WB from AW (and will never go from AH to WW2Online) - already had my online WW2 flight sim and didn't feel like learning new stuff.  Then AW died and I had to learn a new game if I wanted to keep doing WW2 online flying.  So here I am.

And I still have my copy of iF-22 that I never really flew much.

Yep, I'd say that would be the majority...you stick with what you're comfortable with...a natural human tendancy is not to take yourself out of your comfort zone...personally I think taking ones self out of their respective comfort zones in any aspect of life is the key to getting ahead but thats a philosophical aspect.  Why have I stayed in AH and not expanded my online horizons?  Life, kids...I'm lucky to get 30 hours a month in....

If you step back a bit and try to look at the situation at iEN unemotionally, it was plain to see over three years ago that Warbirds heyday had passed, and that it was only a matter of time before the iceberg appeared out of the fog.

The emergence of AH and WW2OL merely confirmed the death of Warbirds. Frankly, I'm surprised that Warbirds has lasted this long with such strong competition.

Paradoxically, in my opinion it was the initial buyout of Warbirds by IMOL that started the demise of Warbirds. It has never been as good as it was when it was an entirely ICI venture.

The golden era of Warbirds was v1.11r2. The introduction of 2.0 introduced the beginning of the end. It's just taken a long time to get there.

*sigh*

My squad left WarBirds because there was nobody in the arena. Not much fun playing against 20 people.

It was ridiculous in there.

well, now I know why I always felt like the Warbirds artwork had a little bite to it.  ;)

Sad to see though.  I know a lot of people (here and over there) care about that game.  Gotta be tough to see their old friend die a slow death with seemingly little hope of recovery.
