desert is boring
« on: June 11, 2003, 05:35:38 PM »
I'm considering canceling my acount every week AKDESERT comes up, and starting a new one once it's over.  It'll be a pain in the bellybutton for me, but hopefully just as much of a pain for HTC. They'd catch on quick if 50-100 of us did that a couple of times.

Maybe when the revised Trinity map becomes available, we'll go back to the old reset format.

There has got to be a way to keep the old reset/cycle map logic BUT if the current map has been up for a week, then automatically reset it (with appropriate warnings).

I don't know man... it seemed like before that the damn pizza and infinity were on 90% of the time... if we have the old resets I am afraid that will be the case again.   A week of pizza is horriible but it used to be worse.

I took yet another long break from AH in a large part due to the AKDESERT map, though I never canceled my account. Funnt thing is first night back in the sky ... yup ... AKDESERT map. I know some people must like it but I sure hear plenty that don't. Ahh well other things to be concerned about I guess. Please no AK band wagon on how great AKDESERT map is or ... whine blah, blah, blah. I know you guys love it ... as you should. Also, NO I am not .. can not... or have any intention to do one better. I think that, for me .. I'll prolly migrate over to the CT when the month of sundays AKA AKDESERT map gets forced into rotation\.

Sounds like we need a couple of more "big maps." ;)

I got it! Nothing but CV task forces (with corresponding ports around the edges). Well .... maybe a "tank town" island in the middle. :D (eg) eh heh heh heh

Actually, I like the new map change format.  Without it, I'd miss out on some of the smaller maps that I like.

I like trinity a bit so it's not the size of the map either.  It's simply that the AKDESERT front lines are too big so it's like playing in the CT because the player density is so low.  The starting base configuration only accentuates the problem, if each country started with a piece of the pie it might be better.

So, I'd rather play in the HTH arenas and not pay for the subscription than play in that desert. The current map change format makes it reasonably possible to cancel an account every time the map comes by.

I like this idea, old reset format but if current map is up for no not a week, that's too long, maybe 5 days.... yeah 2 days makes a lot of difference. Seriously.
