A request...reasonable enough

Just one request...Make the takeoffs easier.  Tried of driving around the airfields trying to takeoff.  Don't give me the realism crud, don't really care to much about that.  Just want to be able take off and  not spend 5 to 10 mins going around the airfield trying to take off.  
I like the plane set, the only problem there is only 2 that I can get off the ground with.
Not too much fun, if you can only fly a couple of planes, would like to be able to fly all, if possible, if the take offs were a little bit easier.

Todd,
Toad came up with an easy way to take off in any of the airplanes in the arena. If you don't have rudder pedals it may be harder but with that in mind his instructions basically were as follows:

After starting the engine, apply full power smoothly. Keep the tail on the runway and use rudder to keep it centered ( you will need to use right rudder ). As the plane gains speed and the stall warning starts to sound off, apply a gentle amount of forward stick to get it up on the main gear. At 120 to 150 IAS gently pull back on the stick to ROG. It works very well for me and others who have tried it.

A lot of the reason I fly this sim is the realism of certain functions of flight. If it were'nt for those I would loose interest quickly. Realism, and the associated skills required, is to a very large degree what this sim is all about. You get rid of that and you have what everyone else has. Not good in my humble opinion.

Hmmm, I always thought takeoffs here are easier than WB... AND the Spit and 109 seem easier than the Mustang to get off the runway... really. Am I doing something wrong?

Put in some right rudder trim before you start the roll.  Only push up the power at a rate you can compensate for with the rudder.  Use one or two clicks of flaps for takeoff (and full for landing).

Keep the "ball" centered throughout the takeoff roll, and don't try to liftoff prior to about 130 mph or so.

Taking off is one of the things I do reasonably well at  
Take that away from me and I won't have much else .. hehe

TODD,just use auto. run eng up to 25%,as plane starts to move hit auto climb.run eng to 100%.  your up.

Saw some one type this online it works great.
before you start engines hit auto then turn it off then hit aut climb. start engine and climb on out. I have rudder pedals so dont need this but it does work. just hiitng auto climb should do same thing.

In "real life", take off is easier than in AH
you can "feel" where your plane is going before to see it. You cant in Sims and in real plane you have rudder pedals, much pepople dont have in computers, and you cant use the trick of auto.
So I agree with Todd, the take procedure is exagerated and unreal difficult.
You may keep as it is for the sake of complexity but what Todd says is a request...reasonable enough

You have troble taking off......<giggle>

1:make sure your load isnt to heavy.
2:turn on auto angle before takeoff. shift-x
3:dont kick it to full power real fast.

I like the takeoff's just like they are.

And be glad your not in WB.

This is what I do in 190 to take off (hard to take off if messes up btw   )

1. turn engine on, full throttle, stick in full pull position, once right rudder (well, I am these without rudder pedals)

2. plane begins to roll, just little use of rudders (not too much because it reacts with little delay always) to keep it straight.

3. speed is above 80 IAS, I ease stick bit but still pulling slightly, do some little rudder changes, to keep it on runway after that.

4. speed is 100 IAS, I push nose to level.

5. 130-140 IAS, I gently pull up the plane and set rudders to default and activate auto angle for quick trims.

I do same in 109 also, but in it, I don't have to be such sharp after rudder and pulling the stick
(pulling the stick keeps tail gear on the ground which prevents plane from circeling around)

In real life any taildragger can be a handful for the newbie.  Same goes for cyber-flying.  When I was taught(that is the word)to fly a taildragger(Citabria then Decathalon)I made mistakes(not big ones, thank you)but my instuctor helped me until I was doing all the work myself.  Then the taildragger solo, and then flying all over God's creation doing loops, rolls, and stalls.  I thought I was king of the hill(man was I full of it...hehe)to the normal Cessna or Piper pilot.  But in reality I was a good taildragger pilot who "PRACTICED, PRACTICED, AND PRACTICED" to achieve what I wanted to do, fly taildraggers.  TODD that's what you need....just to practice.  Once you get "it" you too will be happy you didn't compromise the flight sim, but "practiced" your skill to achieve your goal.
