Tried it...

The track update makes the tracks pretty dark and more difficult to make out stuff in the distance.

The cars...  well they just don't feel like cars to me...  But then again I'm not a big fan of horrendous amounts of aero downforce.
These things have 2 or 3 times the downforce of F1 I believe..

The FPS are not very good for me.

F1C 99-02 taking to much time now.
I'm not a bing F1 fan, bought it for the upcoming MODs, but what a great game.

Have you guys tried it?

I'm d/ling the LM93 pack right now, mostly because I'm frustrated at getting disconnected when I try to d/l the GTR2002 mod - connection keeps "timing out" and "reset by server".  So to heck with them!

I did d/l a trunkload of extra tracks, including my favorite - Sebring - and I'll be running F1 on it for awhile until I get the LeMans cars installed.

And I still have the Sports Car Pack for F1 2001 from rsdg.net which is a lot of fun.

I probablywon't get the next EA F1 release until there's an ALMS mod for it.

Get it, you will like it.  Even if you don't like F1 much.
The Physics are great (not that I would know), but alot of fun.

The sound.....excellent!!.  From the skid sound, to the bell when you come into the pits.

The driving feeling is tops. (GPL like).  Hard to explain you have to see it yourselves.

After I finished the d/l of LM'93 I took a couple spins in the Toyota at Magny-Cours just to make sure everything worked.  First thing I noticed was that the tracks were really really dark, which made it hard to see the track ahead and set out any marks.  The second thing I noticed was the difficulty in controlling the Toyota.  I'm still playing with the steering sensitivity to find a setting that won't send me into a fishtail.  Right now I've got it at 25% but I may change that a couple of % points up or down once I get some more time with it.

The sounds are great.  The graphics are great (except for the darkness).  Wish there were more cars, though, like Steve McQueen's Gulf Porsche and his rival's Ferrari from the movie "Le Mans".  And Watkins Glenn as a track would be fun, too.

I like the LMP cars.  Hopefully they'll come out with a patch for the Sebring and LeMans courses to correct the impossible AI physics at some of the turns.  Other than that, I think this is a good mod.  It even includes the head-bounce effect (which kind of gives me a headache after awhile).

I couldn't get the "Instant Replay" to work for some reason.  Not sure why not.

For EA's F! series set your steering sensitivity to 50%  (full linear)

To stop the fishtailing, in the setups section, open the    .  folder, it has the setups developed by the team which will make it much easier to drive.
Oh yeah and be gentle on the throttle, check your throttle setup to make sure you don't have a large deadband.  A known issue with logi wheels and EA's F1 sims.  Check the actual axis display when moving the pedal.

I won't touch F1C until there is an alternative to the F1's.  be likely cheaper then too, F12k2 went down in price real quick.

FWIW I use these settings with Logitech Wingman FF
(Steering settings only)

Wingman Profiler:
Axis properties:
Sensitivity/Range/Deadband 50/100/0 (default)
Game Specific Settings:
Overall strength 150
Spring 100 (setting has no effect in F12002)
Damper 100 (setting has no effect in F12002)
Enable Spring:  Yes
Spring 50

F1 2002:
Steering Sensitivity:  10%
Speed Sensitivity:  0%  (important setting)
All deadbands:  0%

Fish tailing is cured with brake bias. Try setting your brake bais to about 60% or so. Rally and dirt guys like it at a lower setting because  they like to trail brake through the turns but for street, you generally start at 60% for dry track unless its raining.

I already downloaded the LM93 mod but havent installed it. Having alot of fun with F1 cars. The SCR mod is also alot of fun. Bit less horse power, easier to setup also I thought. I managed to get setup rather quickly then had an awsome time lapping Sears Point in an Audi North America R8.

Skurj - what other US tracks are available?  I didnt even know someone made Sebring?

What about the Glen, Road Atlanta, Thunderhill, etc?

In addition - can I move car setups from F12002 to F1C99-02?

There's a Sebring for F1 2002, and a Road Atlanta, but I haven't found Watkins Glenn yet.  Sebring is also included in the LMP'93 mod.  I don't have the URL handy, but I think I found a full listing of tracks through http://www.speedsims.com somewhere.

Watkins Glen can be found at

http://f1games.m4driving.sm/index.php

go to downloads --> track mods --> search for watkins

The only track not available yet is Thunder Hill. Thunderhill is a fairly new track, did LM93 ever race there? Was lapping Silverstone yesterday is a Peugeot 905, alot of fun.
