These were used for a few months and then I put them back in the box.  They work perfectly.  The only blemish is a nick in the rubber sheath on the USB cable, which I repaired with electrical tape.  The insulation on the wires was not affected.  $75 US, I pay shipping in the continental US.

I don't really fly flight sims anymore and I want to get some Act-Labs racing pedals with a clutch.  I can use those as rudder pedals in a pinch.

I have the box and the CD.  They didn't really have any documentation, just a sheet of paper telling you to plug them in and load the CD.  You won't want the drivers on the CD anyways, because they are several versions out of date.  I can burn a CD with the new drivers.

I don't know anything about the Saitek stuff.

It's no problem.  AH works well with multi-device configurations.  I've used CH Pro Pedals (USB) with a Saitek HOTAS, Cougar, Wingman Force, and, of course, with a CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle combination, and they have always worked flawlessly.  They have toe brakes in addition to the rudder, and it is a simple matter to get AH to recognize all three axes.  Moreover, using the CH Control Manager software, you can program the rudder and toe brake axes to any DirectX axis or sequence of keypresses.  If you like the old-style CH Pedals that mixed the pedal axes for form a rudder input, you can set the Pro Pedals up like that using Control Manager.

In regards to whether there's something better, I've heard that lots of flight-sim-ophiles prefer the Simped rudders, but they're a bit over the top for me.

During installation of the CH USB, the directions tell you to download the new Control Manager 2.0 software first before installing the pedals.  So, go over the http://www.chproducts.com and install the new CM2.0 for free while you mull over purchasing funkedup's pedals.

with win98se he doesn't need the CM 2.0, in XP he would..

no problem setting them up, you/I use the rudder in the throttle as aileron trim

I can check with a friend, and he might buy it. He/I will be able to just pick it up then. No need to waist money on shipping.
