4 a.m. local for me is start of US prime time (or even middle of it).

It somehow seemed that the average US prime time players flies a lot worse than the average EU prime time player.

Maybe the big difference is that credit cards and english as native language draw a lot more average american players than europeans, for many of whom english is not the primary language and credit cards are hardly used in europe.

Anyone else noticed this?

average isn't generalization.

I don't think there's a big difference between US prime time and EU prime time aces and US prime time and EU prime time 2-weekers. Just the mix seems to be different.

I think Ccvi may be correct. AH seems to have actually been markeded in the US, as opposed to Europe and the rest of the world where mostly the die-hard flightsim/WWII enthusiasts gets introduced to AH by word of mouth.

Credit cards hardly used in Europe? Are you from Albania or something? Eastern Europe may be behind the times, but credit card usage in Western Europe is very high.

Also remember, prime time on Friday (July 4th) was the start of a major US holiday.

In brittain maybe, but there no language problem exists, either.

Most money transfers in germany are done via direct transfer between bank accounts. Plastic cards to store the accounts data are used, but they're no credit cards. Most things can be payed by credit card, but why do so when there are ways that is safer and no need for additional fees. The system is technically superior, just lacks world wide acceptance, no problem in continental europe though.
Exchange rates are better when payed via credit card, but that's no issue inside of europe

Are you talking about a debit card ccvi? Theres no fee, but you can only spend the money you have in your account.

Up to the limit of your overdraft.

I don't have any fees with Barclaycard (Visa) - provided I pay the balance within a month, after that there is an interest charge.

We Americans approach this game like we do everything else. Brute forcce instead of finesse. I am not looking do anything pretty to beat my opponent. I am going to do whatever it takes to beat them. If that means that I am not as good as the Europeans, I guess that is a cross I have to bear.

We eat red meat and potatoes, grill everything, own guns, and sacrifice virgins. Anything else is just window dressing.

The one you're paying with that card is paying 3% (I think) to the credit card compay. He is beeing payed by you, so in the end you're paying that fee, even if it isn't explicitly shown on the bill.

3% for two month (payed at the beginning of one month, payed at the end of the next - average time is 1 month...). That's an interest rate of nearly 20% (considering the average of 1 month it's >42%).

Those using short term loans (like credit cards) often aren't reliable enough to get one, those that are know of cheaper ways to loan money than at a rate of >40%...

I pay the balance of my card before the interest payments are charged and I don't pay a yearly fee. I use it like a debit card. Also if I pay the entirety when the balance is due, I get 56 days of interest free for any new purchases. It suits me anyways.

alot of americans also use "bank cards" ... they look like credit cards .. they work like credit cards ... they have "VISA" stickers .. but they charge like debit ... with no fee. I also own credit cards .. there's a huge diffrance. Though they look exactly the same.

I use my credit cards in a different way. When paying something I first grab one fo them, then offer to have enough cash with me if I can get a slightly reduced price

That's all they're good for. That and buying in foreign countries.

Back to the topic... The average american player flies worse because he pays evertying with his credit card?!
