Saitek X45 and CH pedal help
« on: July 06, 2003, 03:29:47 PM »
I'm trying to use a Saitek X45 and usb CH rudder pedals together. I can't get them to work on this sim though. The rudder pedals are only usable, the saitek doesn't work when both plugged in. I can only use the Saitek if the rudder pedals are disconnected. Anyone know how I can get them both working in here?

you have to assign the rudder axis to the peds in AH

you do that from within AH in the setup/joystick screen

choose the X45 first then assign all buttons to it
then choose rudder in the left window, CH Peds in the middle window and then the X-axis in the right window

hit ok and then calibrate - should be good to go then

Are the CH Pedals the USB version? Normally when I see "rubber pedals" that is the description for the older CH pedals.  I am using the same setup but with the USB version.  I have read in the past where only the newer CH Pro Pedals USB will work properly in AH.  (thats why I purchased the USB version vs. the older, and cheaper Rubber Pedals).

Beyond that, Eagler gave you the necessary info on configuring your pedals in AH

Hi,

As Eagler sayd, you need to assing the pedals to the AH. Remember calibrate your stick setup in AH too.

I was worried about that too! I just ordered the Ch Pedals today and now, thanks to my Florida Brothers here I ordered the Saitek X45 Digital Stick & Throttle too. Man I sure hope you guys know what your talking about here. This is getting expensive as Hell.
I did it though so that's all that matters.

here's a profile you can use to get you going. It's setup for pedals and has rotors and throttle rudder rocker setup as trim:

be sure to get the CH Manager from CHProducts website - Only way I got my pedals to work correctly in WinXP.

PS.  Just started having problem with Saitek throttle.  Power not going to full with handle full forward.  Have you had this problem Eagler??

have you tried to calibrate in AH?

in AH jstick calibration I move throttle all the way, forward and back, then jstck in a couple of complete circles and then peds left/right 100% then click apply - I do this everytime i first log into AH - only takes a sec.

what does it look like in windows game controller (control panel) - do you get 100% deflection of the throttle there?

Did that in AH to no avail.  In Windows XP "Game Controllers" properties I get the same thing.  Red bar shows up at approx. 1/2 travel to full and tops out at around 3/4 full at full forward deflection.

Does Saitek have the same problems with Pots as Thrustmaster has?

Eagler,

I tried your AH_X45.dat file but  the "Saitek Smart Tech. Programming Software" does not show any data in the Profile.  When I try and load "ACESHIGH_X45" with the Saitek Profiler I get the following messege: "ACESHIGH_X45.dat does not contain a profile for this device.  The device has not been profiled."  Any ideas?

I like the idea of using my "rotors and throttle rudder rocker setup as trim"

Can u explain how you programmed that?

try downloading it again(posted latest one):X45 Profile Unzip it into the C:\Program Files\Saitek\Software directory.

It was created with the latest software SD3.2 disk that came with the stick (new stick as of this week)

to program the rotors for trim you have to break it into 3 band. The top and bottom one are large and hold the trim commmands and the middle is small, just enough to center, and it holds "no command". you spin the rotor one way to trim then back center to stop and vise versa.

If that stupid setup-tool could only make it send direct-X buttons instead of keystrokes...

isn't that what it sends if you don't program anything into it?
