MG-FF cannons, definately.

.50s and Hispanos give out 600~800 yard kills easily.  The MK108 and NS-37, you know it sucks to hit something with it, so you shoot at point blank ranges.

The MG151/20 frickin' sucks, but at least it's better than the MG-FF. The MG-FF cannons on the Bf109E-4, are a menace to hit with. Absolutely the suckiest cannon in AH.

Wah?!  Im far away from Good-Shooter but I ever feel like F4F-4 (4/6* US .50cal) or Super-Brewster FM2 (4*US.50cal) have a difficult guns.
F4F-4 and FM2 US .50cal lasers are nicely grouped together and they have very good hitting power.
BTW What convergence settings you are using for these birds? If I remember right, I use d250/d225 convergence with FM2.

I sayd Spitfire I because its weak .303cal MGs are so widely spaced. You must have a very short convergense  (d200-) for "htting power".
Shooting from longer or shorter distance than concergence setting just give powerles pings all over the enemy fighter.

Take a Spit I and try to shoot FM2 panzer down :p

Yep. They are lasers but somehow they just are difficult for me. I've tried different convergences but no help.

I have no problems with other planes with same guns. F6F is a killer, F4U is great, P47 is a blast... etc...

One very important thing when you flying&shooting with F4F-4 and FM2 is... (Drums here)

A Slip Ball! You need to use alot left feet input and/or left Rudder trim to keep Slip Ball centered during hard maneuvers (E-bleeding) and for aiming & shooting.

Give a try. FM2 is very amazing plane.

The 2 20mm ShVaks on the La5.  Terrible ballistics, slow rate of fire and the hitting power is, IMO, the worst of the 20mm's we have.

i would agree with the ShVak's on the LA's.  La7 used to be my main ride, now i vary it.  2 Gun ShVak loadout is pretty useless over about 400 yards because of the hitting power coupled with the drop of the bullets.

no wonder they made the la7 so fast.

Also the .303's on spits/hurricanes are actually pretty good if you get close and have convergence set right.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

My vote is MG FF(/M), crappy trajectory AND hitting power.

MG 151/20 is easy to hit for me, just don`t fire over 500yds. On Mk108 hitting is not the issue, if you fire over 200yds it`s your own mistake ;)

ShVak's on the La's... they are really tough.  The 190D9 cannons often give me a tough time to start with also, for some reason the D9 simply doesn't have the same feel as the other 190's in that respect.... though I don't know why.

I'd go with the 202's twin 12.7s.  Convergence isn't a problem, but they're not worth anything unless you're right up close behind your target - similar in that way to the .303s and the bolshevik 37.  It always seems to take a lot longer than those weapons systems to get an appreciable effect with the Italian guns.

Or maybe it's just me.
