Toad, i'm callin you out!

Toad Quote. "My personal hope it that all the "mission/win the war guys" will be in there in a flash and the "AH Classic" folks can get back to ACM. "

"Look where the game started and the stated purpose.

Look where it's gone.

I'd like to see it head back towards the original goal. Sorry if that offends you.

I'm glad they're getting AH2 missions. Should provide an option for those that don't think there's enough structure in the MA or whatever.

Seems HT may have figured out everyone wants something different from the game and is providing differing versions to address that.

Is that clue enough for you?

Or do you fail to see a difference? "

AH2 FAQ Quote:

SimHQ: "This is a big leap for you, moving from essentially a furball-type of game with some structured events to a product that is one-half a historical immersion. How long ago did you envision this concept?"

Doug Balmos: "This has been part of our long-range plan since the outset although we didn’t know at the time exactly what it would be. It’s been an ongoing discussion about how to get more flight-sim enthusiasts to make the jump to online gaming. "

So.. Yup. :D

Yah, shure. Look what Pyro actually said there:

Well, Duh! You're surprise they always planned to have a big customer base? Note he said they didn't actually know WHAT they were going to do. They didn't 'dream of the AH2 mission/rank arena'; they just wanted to expand the customer base somehow.

There's a whole lotta things they've been talking about since the outset. Some they discuss in the press, some they discuss on this BBS and some they'll talk to you about in person. Those three situations don't always result in the same statements.

Let's just see how it goes. I feel pretty comfortable with what I said. We'll all know by the end of the year I think; not much time to wait. Somehow, I don't see Laz spending every night in the all new AH2 trying to build up rank so folks will call him "Colonel Laz".

But I can sure envision people like you in there every waking moment furiously striving to make 1st Lt.

So it seems like it's going to be OK if it works. Laz and I'll will still be in Classic and you and those like you will be striving for rank in AH2. Best of both worlds, without a doubt.

You weren't here to read the mission statement on the HTC homepage when AH first started. I can't quote it exactly but it was basically "to build the premier ACM fighter combat game". It's been watered down since, but that was the original goal.

Cute of you to cross post what I said on another message board here though. Taking things out of context is so....... exciting?......... for you? Did you horripilate?

So far I haven`t seen much that would interest me in the TOD portion of AHII as it has been laid out.  Same has been said by squaddies.
Of course things could be different than they have been set forth so far at release date.
I have said it before and I will say it again......... I believe the TOD portion of AHII will produce a entirely new player base. I believe it will interest peeps who have been playing other online games instead of flight sims, those who are used to the " jump through the hoop for a dog biscuit" format type games.  That`s a good thing, but I don`t believe it will hold the interest of the seasoned flight sim player.
HT and Skuzzy have both said the format for the MA will stay "as is", which is good enough for me.

I'll probably stick with AH Classic.

AH2 will be nice but not a driving factor for me.

Anyways, I want to be where Toad, Nopoop, and Lazs are!  :)

Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Following the release of AH2, AH Classic should return to what it was - good fun.

The 'missun' guys will flock to AH2 and rightly so.

Me?  Ill be playing both.  When I want to kill 30 minutes, Ill up a Jug and furball it up in the MA.

When I have more time available Ill marvel at the fact that my squadron and I are escorting 75 buffs over France.  ;)

Yep. You GOT me. You are soooooo kewl. Enjoy your fame.

It's just one of my personality flaws though. I even treat developmentally impaired posters seriously and with respect.
